    I couldn’t agree more. Hate when I see people leaving halters on in pasture. Work with your animal on catching like you said.

    Love your vids. I have been in the serviced most of my life. Now retired and can't wait to get back in the saddle again. Grew up with a mule named "Smokey" That I rode just about everyday until I left for the service. Now looking for a mule or even two since I have used my retirement cash to by a place of my own in the Black Hills. Hope I see an ad from you on mules you might have available.

    Great video. I was here because I just ordered this bit yesterday. I'll watch your other videos prior to calling. Ironically, I've acquired an Arabian mare and cant seem to get a saddle adjusted to fit her. I've considered adding a similar back cinch, but dont have the knowledge to do that yet. I'll watch some of your other videos first. Also, most headstalls are to big for her, and I know this bit would only, add to that dilemma. I thought about having just a single headstall strap with a buckle, and running a small browband through it.

    I've seen that a breeching is more desirable for a mule because a crupper can shift at the tail and break the mule's tail and back so that the mule has to be euthanized. I saw this on another gentleman's mule website. You both sound knowledgeable; so I am concerned about which one of you is correct???

    I have NO experience with any of this. I have adopted 6 kids here and living in Mexico. Kids want horses but being advised to go 4 wheel drive not 2 we live in the mountains. So we now have two mules we are buying this week. I am loving your videos. Watching everything over and over. How do I reach you to buy halters. I can ship them to a friend I the US who can bring them down if I do it soon.

    My only suggestion is to put a leather pad under the snap. I don't like the snap against the skin...'

    Have tried that in the past but its useless, when fitted correctly the snap provides no irritation what so ever.

    Collapse of the bit does one thing, it pinches. Communication should be through the least amount of resistance, pinching causes resistance, so if your hand already causes pinching and resistance how is that a positive reaction. Release yes but the minute you gather your reins you create pinching and resistance.

    Your snap crown is upside down it's digging into that mule hide. That outfit you're rigging up would work better if you took that halter off 📴📴

  • @laurence1643
    @laurence1643 Жыл бұрын

    You've got that halter and headstall way too tight and that flank cinch back too far, just like a flank strap on a buckin horse. When it all goes bad you won't make 8 seconds. Good training is much better than pressure.
