Infinity mirror mineshaft coffee table
Hello guys! In this video im making a wooden infinity mineshaft style coffee table. Costs well under £100 to make and a fairly enjoyable build.

For the lamp, if you had cut it in half and pressed it right up against the mirror, you could have doubled the depth effect by making the lamp appear to repeat half as often.

The light was the only thing I disliked...so half a light mounted against the mirror at the bottom would create half the repetition?
@diggoran

@@kornfed81 Yes, exactly. Though he would of course have half the space to fit a bulb inside, so the electronics would probably need to be modified too.

there would still be a noticable borderline cutting across the lamp, you can kinda see the 'sections' where the mirror starts in the video with the different shades. to ease the gap we could install the lamp horizontally.

@@bi_zha Take the cage bit from the discarded half, maybe sand it down a bit and throw it where it touches the glass. Might be able to hide the seam by pretending it is part of the fixture.
you need this in the corner of the room with one level with the floor, and another one in the ceiling, with a ladder on the wall in-between the two. That way it looks like a infinite shaft going up and down that you can access!

Even just having it inset level with the floor with an open trapdoor over it would be pretty cool.

That's by far the best infinity mirror idea I've ever seen, extremely cool!
I'd love to hide an underground entrance this way, it's perfect. "Oh it looks like a mine shaft, ha har!" ->Slides table to reveal mine shaft. -> :0
I think this is the best possible implementation of an infinity mirror. Very inspiring.
I'm glad this showed up in my recommended list. Such an awesome project. Going to make this myself. Can finally have my "secret underground bunker".

Build a hatch cover over this shaft and you are done. Maybe add a sign saying "do not enter".

@@gorillaau that's not a bad idea. Hinged on the top, with a trigger to turn the LED on when opened. Rigged up to a LED controller to add a flicker once in while.

Some genius commenters here. Nice ideas!
this is absolutely amazing! WOW! Please more of that kind!!!
A similar idea would be a train tunnel for a kids room . Mounted vertically on the wall.
That's fan-bloody-tastic, would love one of these!
Excellent project ! Excellent effects and results ! This is definitely on my list of “to build” ! Good video- a brilliant Thumbs Up !
I love this project. Really good idea having a mineshaft. With regard to the router, you could have made your own fence for it. Thin piece of hardboard screwed to the base with the shiny side down and then fix a small strip of wood to one side to give you the size gap you need.
Easily one of the coolest applications of the infinity mirror idea, bravo!
I've never seen one of these before, I am very inspired by your design and will most definitely be incorporating it into one of my furniture projects!!
Beautiful creation! I can't wait to build myself!
I'm definitely going to build one of these. I worked in a gold mine in my 20s. It didn't look like this but it's still super cool.
Great video. I like that you include the problem solving portions of the build. I run into this thought process on all projects and it is part of what I enjoy most. Thanks for the info!
That's one of the coolest projects that I've seen. Great job!
What a great idea and it’s turned out brilliant ! 👍
Incredibly clever idea and excellent execution. Well done.

Only people who are either jealous, or they can't do it and it makes them envious of others so much, that they get jealous of others. I think them kind of people do stuff like that, or they think they are better than others. Who wouldn't like infinity anything?

I love it, so much!! And your guest star, 😍🔥🔥
thanks for the idea! infinity mirror coffee table just went on my to do list! A round stone well would be really cool with this technique!
Wow! That's trippy! The ladder that never ever ends.
Omg. I am speechless. This is amazing. What a cool idea beautifully executed.
Amazing. Using the 2 way mirror for an infinity effect is genius.
Looks good. Few things are as satisfying as creating something amazing from mundane pieces
Love it. Rather simple. Lots of possibilities to modify the motif.
LOVE. This. What a great idea. Turned out really well thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. 👍👍

Your decision making skills remind me of me. It's like watching me woodwork. I appreciate how much detail you leave in on this front.
You are absolutely genuine and about as real as it gets brother. Thanks for the build, the ideas and the video. I'm definitely gonna turn one of these out here in the big Country of Texas....lol...
Sweet, that looks really cool. Thank you for sharing.
The imperfect reflection of the mirrors really works well to add to the distance effect. Well done.
That is bloody awesome. Never seen anything like that before. Well done.
Great idea, and beautiful result!
Thanks for this top- notch video. My wife & I are looking forward to seeing more.
Holy crap dude, this is incredible! I want one so badly.
This is absolutely brilliant.
That is the coolest coffee table I've ever seen.
Really cool design! Imagine building an entire floor like this.
Great project. Thanks for sharing it.
What a clever idea. Great project! 👍🏻
A phenomena that has always fascinated me as a child sitting in a barber chair, you know, 2 large mirrors facing each other, you sitting at an angle and there it was. 🤔Still amazes me to this day.
I love the idea and what would be great is to make a round stone well version for the garden ! 👍👍

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT - VERY WELL DONE SIR!!!
A brilliant idea. Well done.
Very cool project. To solve the router problem at the end, you could use your table saw to dado the notch at the beginning prior to assembly.
Really novel idea, thanks for sharing love it!
coolest thing i seen in years furniture wise .... great stuff mate
this project is so awesome! Well done!
Hi wiz ... Oh wow just wow wow absolutely love this project ... Amazing ... Simply amazing ... I'd just love one ... Great workmanship ...
i think of this table everyday
Top notch. I enjoyed this project very much.
Genius idea brilliantly done!
Great project. As an alternative to routing the top mirror rebate on the almost finished table, you could have easily created the rebate on your table saw at the cutting stage. This would be quicker, easier and provide razor sharp edges if done carefully. Thanks for posting.
Love your skull signature piece and it looks awesome!! 👍🏻
loved it. very inspiring.
That is Ultra cool, Job well DONE!!!
That is brilliant thanks for sharing
I appreciate the direct, immediate doing of the thing, with a minimum of unrelated discourse, self-promotion, etc. you don't waste our time. Well done.
Excellent job on the build! If you're not happy with the edging around the glass top, you could get some picture frame trim and build a frame to conceal the seam between the glass and the "ladder shaft".
Thats looks BRILLIANT well done! I used to make similar things YEARS ago when I was on the road as a DJ an 'infinity light box' very big in the 80's! always baffles many people who kept looking around the back of the boxes 😅🤣😂🤣😅👍
I love that looks great well done !
That was a great variation in the theme of infinity tables. 😄✌
OMGGGGGGGGGG! I totally need to build this. Thank you!!!!

Hi Wiz, totally new to your channel and glad you feeling better. What a great table, love the unique idea and super job all around. Will check in on other videos, take care and keep well.
That's brilliant! Love it. Definitely a project for me. Living in a 250yr old house, I'm pretty sure there IS a shaft down to the local fudge mine that I'm just about to discover!!
That actuality looks COOL. I'm gonna make one. It's a good conversation piece
That looks BRILLIANT. Love it and want one in my house now.... cheers mate.
Great piece! For the top routing you could tack thin strips and then use a flush router bit. Been there.
This definitely deserves more love.

A stunning idea, executed as much by hope as skill. Worked a treat, didn't it? You may have been ill (been there), but you're firing on all 12 cylinders again now. It takes a while but trust me, there's better to come. Other good stuff coming? Can't wait... A genuine and MASSIVE thankyou for this. Like me, lots of people seeing ways they could use your ideas for their own (different) projects. I believe that's called sythesis - the highest form of learning. So, in my book at least, you are now Professor Wiz.
😊great idea and well implemented !
I enjoyed this video and I can totally relate to the tool deficit.
That’s so cool! Great work. 🤘🏻
Super nice project!
EXCELLENT make, bud ! _AND_ - *THANKS* for the ON-Screen presence AND the narration. This helps US to understand your intent and the STEPS you take to succeed with the Build 👍. EXCELENT result, TOO , btw - *_;=)_* !
Very creative, I just purchased an LED Infinity coffee table which brought me here seeking inspiration for what’s possible, or what others have done within this type of illusionary aspect to everyday furniture through modern concepts and contemporary design. As ever I am continually blown away by how hobbyists and practitioners of a certain craft push the domain past that of what is mass produced by corporate outfits, even making the process seem oddly achievable for the rest of us despite the obvious, or before that little contentious voice reminds us that the last time we faced a woodwork project was decades ago in middle school, with mixed results! Inspiring all the same which is what’s most important and optimal notwithstanding optimistic, and so I appreciate the sharing of your craftsmanship and project should you see this. Many thanks from an infinite novice in woodwork with grandiose ideas.
