    Shane, I’m 46 years old and started practicing to surf skate two weeks ago.I’ve managed to learn pumping and slowly added knees and hips to my moves. This video is absolutely fantastic and got me to accelerate at longer pumps and make my curves a lot sharper and smoother. Though I’m still quite stiff in my movements, I can only improve from here with your tutorial. Many many thanks, I’ll keep going at it until I’m a pro!😂

I hope my 55 yo Dutch hips will loosen up a bit while practicing. All they are used to is doing the Dutch klompen (wooden shoes) dance 😅

Hi, will changing to higher durometer wheels with hopefully less friction in a garage setup, make this easier to learn.

  • @shanelai2515

    @shanelai2515

    Жыл бұрын

    The change in friction to lose less speed in that particular context is extremely negligible. Going for wheels (99a) that are too hard might cause unintentional slides. You actually want great hold to be able to push through the turn really hard and still grip. At this particular speed, it is 99% technique and timing. Hope that helps 😊

    @@shanelai2515 thanks that’s really helpful. I videoed myself today and discovered that my stance was narrow, and I was not compressing or rotating nearly as much as I thought I was. On the positive side, these are also the bad habits I want to fix in my surfing, so at least I have reproduced the problem on the surf skate 😊. And forgot to say thanks for your brilliant video tutorials.
