"Infinity Boa" wood and resin power carving, resin art demonstration by Dan Preece. Artforour.org

In honor of the 2 years I spent in Brazil...
"Infinity Boa" is a resin and wood carving that measures 15 x 11 inches, created with power carving techniques. This abstract carving reminds me of a wood and resin boa constricter. Finished with teak oil.
Being auctioned here: www.artforour.org/currentauct...
100% of the proceeds will be donated to Operation Underground Railroad to fight child trafficking around the world. More items can be seen at ArtForOUR.org.

You look as if you are literally wrestling a large snake, and then expecting to see the head of the snake eating its own tail showing up in this carving. It looks amazing

If you decide to use colored resin, you could save some of your ribbons and put it in clear resin by itself or with wood. I’ve seen others do that and you can come up with some real pretty pieces that way too. I’ve seen some that’s even save some of the wood shavings to put with colored resin.

...first, the piece is flat out gorgeous...you are truly an artist!...👍 Now, you may already know this, but when working with a 'motor', you need to know its duty cycle...for example, years ago I was contracted by a company to complete a project that had been started, using their equipment. After burning up a powered screwdriver, I looked at its duty cycle...10 minutes on, 30 minutes off (THAT was not going to cut it). I brought it to their attention but they were not concerned...I burned out two more before completing the project. Of course, a duty cycle rating of 'continous' is best...you may find the first rotary tool had something less... Matt

I truly enjoy your art work and videos. Now for my stupid question - knowing nothing about resin - could you have used your model as your form? That is pour the resin into the foam molds you formed into chain links and after the resin cured cut the foam off.

Very well done Dan. Is there any way your mind can work out a wood/resin vase, rainbow color with big puzzle pieces scattered on the outside for Autism? Bet it would look really cool and sell big for your cause

Those ants sound like the cleaner ants we have here in Panama. They enter your house by the bazillions, marching through anything they can access. They find spiders, dead bugs, pieces of meat left in the dog dish, and then as quickly as they came, they are gone. This happens once or twice a year. I made a video called "Home Invasion" on my channel.

Great video but just fyi, your sound level is way too low. Right click on the video and then select *Stats for Nerds* and you'll see that your sound level is at *-16.1dB* which is way too low of a volume.
