Gt Boy Hey Thanks! Car actually ran 2 tenth slower with the new downpipes but it was about 20 degrees warmer. I hear these cars get heat soaked quickly. Next mod will be a heat exchanger. Stay tuned for that install video. 🙂

How much of a gain just with the downpipe alone with no JB4? Also, can you run higher JB4 map setting with downpipe and heat exchanger?

Jonathan E. No vibration. Make sure the exhaust is not hitting against the frame .

No. Should you install Megan Downpipes if you already have a check engine light on? No. Fix whatever is causing the check engine light first. Did this answer help you? Please let me know. 🙂

Not sure what happened. Maybe the bag ripped open during shipping, or maybe I did it while unpacking or maybe someone had a bad day and just threw everything in there. Lol. Nothing was missing so it’s all good. 👍

Do you get the CEL? I heard “need” to used a spacer for the o2 sensor, but some said it isn’t necessary.

Antonio MAN FANG No CEL here. I think you only have to worry if you install the full downpipes. At that point you will need a tune anyway.

@@b58forever I did mines today. And yess it definitely gives you a boost. If your not heat soaking it has enough pressure to push you back into your seat for sure. If you ever done an axel back or ams intakes you should install a lower down pipe to restore the lost pressure on air

Perfect timing. I just received mine today. I paid $150 on ebay, no tax, no shipping. I bought them with an ebay gift card I bought at Target with my Red Card which gave me 5% off the gift cards. Then, I get the 1% ebay bucks back, for what it's worth. So, I essentially paid $141 shipped. My hardware came in a bag, too bad yours did not. Is there a big weight savings? How did it drive/feel? Any CEL? Thanks.

ptatohed Hey Great deal! I forgot to weigh the Megan pipes but the stock ones are about 16 lbs. combined. Maybe you can weigh your Megan pipes and let me know. Probably saving around 10 lbs. I got no CEL and car drives and sounds like stock.

Thanks for the reply FI. Ok, so my install went pretty well. There were a few upper flange connections where the supplied bolts were not long enough (two flanges + gasket + lock washer + flat washer = barely enough or not enough extra bolt threads for the nut to catch). One I barely got and another I gave up and bought a longer M10 bolt at Lowe's. Also, on the passenger side, if you leave the O2 sensor in, it's too hard to tighten the nut behind it. So I ended up taking out the O2 sensor with the DP on the car. If Megan just swung the O2 bung around the pipe, even 5 degrees, it would have made a difference. Also, this happens to me every exhaust job - lol - instead of taking off the bolt, I take the whole stud with me. :S That happened a few times. So, instead of the Megan-supplied nuts/bolts/washers, a few connections were made with the OEM stud and nut. No CEL. Sound might be a little deeper. No test drive yet. Ok, as for weight.... I added in the OEM support bracket and bolts that can be removed with the Megans. Here's what I got: OEM passenger lower DP (with removed bracket): 9 lb 8.4 oz Megan Racing lower DP: 4 lb 13.8 oz OEM driver lower DP (with removed bracket): 9 lb 1.4 oz Megan Racing lower DP: 4 lb 12.2 oz Thus, about 9 lb weight savings. :)

ptatohed I used the OEM stud and nuts too if they didn’t come off. Way better quality. The hardware Megan gives you is not the best. I overtightened one the nuts and it started to strip so I replaced it. I kept the brackets in the car for now. I wanted to see if there’s a way to support the Megan DP like the OEM pipes. I’m sure that not using those brackets is putting extra stress on those flanges and they may crack over time. Nine pounds is not bad. Thanks for the info. 👍

@@fixinit FYI, passenger side bracket and bolts = 1 lb 4 oz, driver side bracket and bolts = 10.6 oz. Say, ~ 2 lb total for the brackets.

It’s not necessary. However, to get the most out of any mod, a tune is recommended.

Almost no difference in sound over stock. I'm sure there's a performance gain since there's less restriction, but I haven't noticed a seat of the pants difference.

Blame the Biden administration for cracking down on these off road aftermarket parts. Just buy it used or have a muffler shop custom make it.

Aldy Molina I’m not really sure but It should fit. I’m keeping the stock exhaust though just in case something happens, like a blown engine, and I have to take it back to the dealer for warranty work. Don’t want them denying the warranty because of the down pipes.

Allensons Try clearing the codes and see if they come back. You may need O2 sensor spacers.

@@fixinit I clear the code on the Jb4 but then a day later it came back on with traction control off all of a sudden. I can't clear the code no more but the CEL is still there.

Alberto O That’s a weird code. Check to make sure you are not getting any leaks. Then clear the code and see if it comes back. Some guys put spacers on the O2 sensors to get rid of CEL.

Been about a year now. I’m wondering have they cracked yet? I’m suspicious on the lifetime since they don’t come with a mount to the oem mount like u said? Great video though!!

Sorry, I can’t report on that. I sold the car.

You will have a check engine light guys. Unless the rear o2 sensors are tuned out you will always have a cel when removing a cat unless you use defoulers (spacers)
