Great tutorial! Lots of great tips. I might have missed something, but why is it that you use 12.5 on posterize time rather than 12 to get "that 12fps look"?
@BenMarriott

Thanks so much! oh, 25fps is the standard frame rate in Australia so that's what I default to most of the time. :) But 12 is best on a 24fps comp
@t_clabon

@@BenMarriott ahhh that makes sense. 25 is standard here in the UK too, just used to internet people doing US standards!
In case anyone is wondering about the rationale for scaling a comp down to reduce the dissolve texture crunchiness: 9:31 Dissolve mode snaps pixels to be either totally transparent, or totally opaque. By scaling down a comp that includes dissolve mode textures, the resampling will introduce different degrees of transparency in the resulting pixels (instead of them being 'on' or 'off') which gives a softer, more organic look. Another great video Ben!

Thanks so much! that's a perfect explanation. Wish I could articulate it that clearly
ben can't stop being awesome. Thank you, i hope you had a great weekend!
Hey Ben, love your videos - you always teach me something new! A quick tip - If you want to constantly reference something in your Main Comp you can lock it and then open up precomps/layers/etc. in secondary windows. That way you don't have to constantly shuffle between windows and comps in one single view. This method allows continuous monitoring in real-time no matter how many precomps deep you are. Hope this helps, thanks!
I honestly wish more tutorials were as to-the-point and easy-to-understand as this one. Amazing! Thank you so much!
Finally I found the best tutorial about infinity loop after watching a ton of tutorials. You deserve a ton of million viewers. Thanks a lot!
Real nice tutorial! I've always wanted to see how this infinite zoom effect was done and you made it very easy to understand! Thanks Ben!

Thank you sooooooo much for exponential scale. I was going crazy on a project trying to do it by hand

Do you have any advice for doing this with a single photo? I can’t get it quite right. I tried using a mask, but I’m not satisfied with the result.

Hey Ben, I really love your Effort to making this video. May I know can I do this in android mobile itself. Can I create this video through mobile app itself. Is there any APP for this
Me clicking on this video: This will be fun! Me at the 6 minute mark: What is t i m e ?
The wipe to reveal the pizza should have been the same shape as the eye, so it would have looked like the eye opened over and over.
You've sold this tutorial by selecting pizza as your topic of choice.
very good tutorial, and what can i do if I need to do exactly teh same but in a spiral movement as if were the twister eye?, thanks a lot
Any chance you can explain how to make it last longer (15sec) i tried to loop it but the reveal drops off after one rotation. Thank you! fun tutorial 🙂
I love this tutorial! I just have a question, what is a null object?
Awsome tut Ben, I just have one question.. How to compensate for the delay on Instagram that happens to reload the video?

Thanks so much, Ive never run into that problem. I just export it like this and it works fine 🤔
Hi! Is there a way to apply that same "Exponential Scale" technique but for Position? I'm making this exact same type of effect, the thing is that my loop point isn't right in the middle of the composition, so i have to scale and adjust position. Thanks!
@BenMarriott

Hmmm, not that I know of, you might just have to eyeball the graph yourself and tweak it with some trial and error
Thank you! Its always a pain to import art boards to AE, is there a special workflow you use?
genius
I'm quite new to After Effects and have enjoyed these videos immensely... moving from Animate for basic stuff at work to doing better stuff in AE now. Can anyone explain how to add the Posterize Time Effect to all layers? I couldn't figure it out the other day... I think I created a Null Object and put it on that layer but it wasn't effecting anything below it; so I just added the effect to every single layer that was animated 😆😬
@BenMarriott

Thank you so much! :D that's so great to hear. You need to add it to a new "Adjustment Layer" Any effect you add to that will effect any layer below it :)

What's with the illuminati pizza/evil eye symbolism?
Luv u 3000
Why did you choose that image for your video?
How can I change position at the same time? I do key frames for position but it's not smooth and there is no exponential scale for position key frames. can you help me please?

Can i realise this effect with another Adobe program because after effects is 64bit and my pc only 32bit

I love your tutorials! By the way could make one on how to make infinite cycle fire?
I'm so lost around 6:00 this didn't work at all for my comp, I'm not sure what I did wrong, everything is black...
