Seriously... I don’t know how you do it... you take something I already know and than teach it to me again... I love how you teach infield... by far the best I’ve seen... the fact is every time I think I know something, you teach more... it’s exciting to learn knew things and humbling to know I guess I didn’t know it as well as I thought... Awesome job!!!! ~DM

This one video changed me from below average, average at best error prone fielder to competing with elite fielders of my age. Of course I know I need reps to get better, but this is the one thing that truly turned me around. Keep doing what you’re doing👍🏼

Never really thought about the heel to toe connection with the left side as the ball enters the glove, great way to break that down and to keep what could be a complicated idea very simple. I'm excited to try these drills with my 12U team this spring. (Glad to see that I'm not the only coach that works so hard on explaining drills and concepts that I lose my breath).

Sometimes I wish I had KZread and access to videos like this growing up in the 80s and 90s to help my game. I didn’t have coaching like this, either my parents couldn’t afford camps or didn’t have time to take me. Now as an adult, and a spectator, I’ve grown to really see things like fielding ground balls almost like an art or a dance. It’s a thing of beauty- the footwork, getting the ball into glove, preparing to throw (4step or 2step), and finally throwing the ball. It’s kind of silly but Sometimes I wish I could do drills to practice but There’s nothing to practice for!

This is one of my favorite videos Antonella!!! I’m sorry to complicate this but if you have time I have a few questions... Is this drill more for funneling the ball to the body as oppose to raking... and if so do you have a raking drill... I always teach that the foot and glove are connected just like catching fly balls if you see where I’m going...when should the glove hand be engaged, with heel striking or the toe down... This is confusing because I always teach to flash the glove early on grounders... I never broke it down this specific but your video is making me think... Also, it seems like funneling and raking uses different muscles and the glove- foot connection somewhat breaks down differently... Also what is your preference for the lead foot alignment... open or closed... obviously even seems unreasonable... Obviously throwing to first as the angles may change with differing throws... You made me think about the heel strike to toe as this makes my alignments feel different... I wonder if the alignment is related to funneling and raking too... like I said this can get complicated especially because I believe that the type of ground ball dictates the type of reception (I.e., funneling or raking) the player utilizes. Last question and off topic... my son is having a hard time with his fear... he just turned 11 and decided to take this season off... His fear of getting hit affects his fielding, pitching, his whole experience and I feel like he’s almost done with baseball however he said he will play in the fall... He’s an excellent hitter and when he’s confident I feel like he’s one of the best hitters in Hillsborough county which is a big statement if you know Florida... Do you have any experience or tips that may help him control his fear... It would be a shame if he stops playing ball... Any help would be appreciated... Thanks again for all you do.... ~DM
