Inferno sxs cab heater Willys jeep install

Installation of an inferno sxs cab heater in my 1945 ford gpw. This process would be similar for a willys Cj2A Willy mb or Cj3a cj3b cj5. Below is a link to the model of heater I used in this video.

Cool to see this mod. I seen the original heater kit and the diagram that came with it. I bet those cost big bucks to have oem vintage parts such as those. I bet it’s a game changer to have those with the top.

This is a really cool modern heater to retrofit into a vintage jeep. I had been looking for an original for years for a decent price. I finally found one. It is restored and mounts over the drivers feet. Should keep my feet warm. I am trying to keep everything 1945 and older.

Hi buddy how are ya? Oh man thank you for sharing this. I’ve removed the heater in 69 cj5, I’m gonna go to swinging peddles and break master on the fire wall. This lil heater will be perfect. The heater core looks to be about the same size but with a more efficient blower. I will mount mine like you did out of the way, but must make a bracket off the firewall inside as the glove box is fiber board. Thanks buddy! God bless you and the fam!!

With that little 4 banger I bet you will have to install an electric fan to get the radiator hot enough for that windy cab. Maybe not, but that little motor will take a long time to get hot in the extreme cold with the fan you have now spinning. Good luck.

The l134 makes more heat than it should. They always run hot. And are inherently thermally inefficient. It will heat just fine. I been running flat fenders with no top all year long forever so just having a top alone will be a massive improvement.

@@redeyecafegarage7484 it looked really nice. What size material did you start with if you remember? I found a canvas tarp at harbor freight that I think would be perfect for mine. There’s a 8x10 and a 10x12. I’m trying to figure out which size I should get. How did you start the project? Or where did you start first. I can’t find anything except where a guy did a half top. But I want a full top like yours and doors but don’t want to pay the big price that they cost. I think I can fudge my way through it but just need a few pointers. Thank again for any help on the subject.
