Inertia Shuffleboard..... Homemade Science with Bruce Yeany

Here is a table top shuffleboard game that we've set up when demonstrating Newton's laws of motion, students found it to be a lot of fun. There are several variations that be be made, The game can be set up simpler without the rubber band shooter block, just pushing the blocks by hand but everyone seemed to prefer this method.

The best part of this is watching kids actually play and enjoying this. 😁 Though Some might have reacted with: "Dude, so lame...no Bluetooth, no Emojis" 🙄

Nice idea, especially that you show Newton's laws with it as well as momentum. I added a note, maybe I'll build it one day.

How do you think there would do 3d printed? They would be lighter than the wood but I could do color options and could print it with catcher plate attached and maybe the ring for the rubber band

You can spread saw dust on the table and with a small broom sweep in front of the block as it shoots down the table 😉

That looks more fun than most indoor games I can recall. I wonder if it will be in the Olympics one day lol! If dancing horses can be an olympic sport or polishing ice with a sweeping brush, throwing a stick, formation dancing in water, chucking arrows in a board, well, I see no reason why flirting wooden blocks shouldn't be in there as well.
