There are so many things that are great about that race. The very end watching the crew run around looking for anybody to hug always gets me. The emotion of Indy is unmatched anywhere else in racing. Helio is the most professional driver ever. Still giving a salute in pit lane to sato and smiling talking to the captain. I’ve been to the past 16 Indy 500s and for whatever reason this one didn’t stand out to me as much as some others, but what a race and epic dual between two of the most talented drivers in the world, and Max Chilton somehow
Finally you made it!As Japanese I'm damn proud of you 琢磨!Congratulations !
This was the greatest indy 500 I've ever seen.
Indycar has Takuma Sato, F1 has Yuki Tsunoda

Good job! Good run !!
One of the best Milk chugs ever way to go Sato!!!!!
congrats dude!! great race.
There's nothing like the Indy 500. That block move two laps from the end set the stage.

As a follower of Formula 1 and seeing Sato for the first time at the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix, I felt very happy with this win.
lmao his radio after he crosses the finish line is hilarious. "AHHHHHHH!!!! AHHHHHH!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!" great drive from Sato lol.

I've got to wonder how those guys hands and right foot feel after that? That was a Great drive by Sato, IMO. And a world class interview.
Feel-Good win for sure. Congrats Sato. Nice to see a Japanese driver win this race.
The one thing that made me smile in 2017.
when castronevez made that pass with 7 to go you could not hear anything in turns 3 and 4! IT was deafening! Then Sato taking the victory! what a great race. And seeing the joy from Sato in victory lane almost brought tears to my face.
Coming from a NASCAR fan, this was better than any racing that you will ever see from NASCAR. NASCAR will never be the same as it was before Dale died. I don't care what shitty format is used, but I am done with NASCAR. I will watch indycar now

Ngl since the chase/ playoff era started it’s been crap, the racing was fine after dale died
Every year a pleasure to watch the Indy 500... There´s just no other race like it. You just don´t see this type of racing anywhere else. And like every other year i feel like we had the best Indy 500, this race simply delivers.
Helio out there giving the thumbs up to Takuma. Castroneves has been a great ambassador for Indy car.
Thanks for posting. great finish
Who was the genius who switched to showing Sato's team celebrating as he came to the line, and missed showing him cross the yard of bricks?
I’m proud of him as Japanese.
My Man The Mayor didn't get it done, but I'll settle for somebody I can like...and Takuma is 100% certified HARD CHARGER! Congratulations and drink up all your milk like a true Indy winner!
Thanks for the video. I had to work today...thanks a bunch!
Congrats Sato!!!!!
awesome job Takuma...Bonzai!
holy crap that was a SWEET race
Easily one of thebest 500's, an amazing race, and I just love seeing Taku win.
2017 Sato ichiban! 2018 Will Power is Aussie winner!. Mate!
We are proud of you! Congratulations the Indy 500 champ Takuma!
1:50 & 3:10 Watching this video again and I can't believe Castroneves pulled off the outside move into turn 3 twice in the closing laps. Unbelievable moves. A bit of a shocker actually now seeing this that after pulling off those moves he couldn't win the race.
Honda. The Power of Dreams....Ganbarou Sato!
Way for the camera to cut away to the pit crew just before Sato crossed the finish line. Someone's gonna get yelled at.
I honestly wished he won the 2012 Indy 500. That could’ve been better.
Such a beautiful finish. :’) Shame they cut to the other camera at the wrong time.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!
Sato's car was at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show!! It was pretty cool to see it.
“AAAAAAAAAHHH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! AAAAAAAAAHH!! AAAAAAHHH!” - Takuma Sato 2017 Indy 500
Been waiting for him to do great things ever since I raced as him in F1 championship edition
Helio fan, but man, Sato deserved it, especially after the way Dario chopped the hell out of him to win 5 years ago.

And God punished Dario months later with the career ending crash trying to do the same against Sato once more. Also he broke with Ashley judd, who became a psycopath.

I felt a little strange because Takuma Sato was called “Sato”. It’s the most popular family name in Japan!! Maybe There are about three or four “Sato” in classroom or office. By the way, he’s written “佐藤琢磨” with kanji.
Great!
good driver..just didnt have the car in the past to win it.

Great race - great day for Takuma Sato.
I heard Sato's voice somewhere exactly like that in cartoons or super hero movies... i just cannot remember
