Hopsin is Undercover Prodigy. - If you do his stuff, you'll need to know he was initially signed with Tamika (Easy E's girl) and she mismanaged the crap out of him. He then went on to start up Funk Volume with others (Dame) and this (Ill Mind 8) explains how that ended. - Then he started Undercover Prodigy. Hopsin's been around a long, long time. He's unique, incredibly intelligent, and talented. Hope you check out more of his stuff. Ill Mind 4-9 are all outstanding. Nocturnal Rainbows, Low Key, Kumbaya, Witch Doctor, Purge, Fly, Sag My Pants, etc, and any of the bazillion collabs.

@@CliffBeatsOfficial You're welcome! Now that I think about it, I've never really seen any group name/rally cry for Hop. 🤔 You'll quickly find he's gritty, raw, funny, emotional, and probably a bit too honest for his own good at times - at least within the public eye, but it makes him so much more relatable. I tripped across Hopsin back when he and Tech N9ne were tied in with horrorcore. It was 2007 when he signed with Ruthless Records (Tamika) and 2009 when Funk Volume came into play. Undercover Prodigy launched 2016. Stay blessed! I'm here for it!

This is my favorite by far. Shitting on your manager for like 6 minutes and ending the song by saying fuck you I'm out? that was gangster as heck. He is independant now but he used to be in Funk Volume which was kind of his label too, but had other people involved (Dame to be exact but not the one you mentioned lol). and felt like he was getting screwed over. Paraphrasing but that's the gist of it.

"This is that RAW shit, organic flow you probably see up in Whole Foods" is also a double to his first album under their label Funk Volume, titled "RAW." It was his biggest break back in 2010, and what made him and FV be put on the map for "underground" rappers. Raw was a great album back then, and worth a listen. Shows how far Hopsin has come in production/lyricism/concepts since those days. And it wasn't like it was a bad album, either. It was also filled with angry, dark lyrics aimed at people who he felt wronged him. Hence the mention in this song.

I know I am way late.. but here's a breakdown. Ill mind 8 is all about how Hopsin found out about how Dame Ritter was screwing over the label that Hopsin and Swizzz (Dame's brother) and they made Dame the boss.. the manager, label owner and their accountant. Basically hop found out Dame was pocketing money that should have gone to the artists under Funk Volume. When he mentioned Jerry heller, manager of NWA, he did the same to that rap group. When he mentioned, you on that same BS Tamika brought, he is talking about the wife of Easy E.. who severely mismanaged hop in the beginning of his career, and she did the same to Bone thugs & Harmony. Basically it's a call out track, because Dame majorly screwed over the label Hopsin and his brother created together. Now he is on his own label Undercover Prodigy and doing much better on his own because what people don't really think about.. Marcus Hopsin is a very smart individual, he is a lyricist and was inspired by Marshall Mathers (Eminem). One of his tracks from his new label you should definitely check out is Witch Doctor.. slaps just as awesome as this ill mind 8, but the inspiration for witch doctor came from an African tribe, cause you'll see him in glow in the dark body paint like a tribal warrior. But hey, awesome reaction!
