INDUSTRIAL STEAM CLEANER | How to Steam Clean Grease from Heavy Equipment

Ғылым және технология

Hot water pressure washers are great for cleaning dirt and grime, but for heavy grease and oil, the use of an industrial steam cleaner is a far superior method.
Heavy equipment used in the agriculture, construction, or manufacturing industries often times become covered in a thick, disgusting layer of grease, hydraulic oil, fatty substances, or other contaminates. This kind of mess can create a challenge for even the biggest pressure washers. Steam cleaning is the solution.
Steam cleaning is accomplished by very hot water droplets accelerated by steam expansion impacting the equipment surface. The steam nozzle is an integral part of an effective steam cleaner, and it's effect can be compared to that of the choke of a shotgun. Not only does the nozzle direct the steam, but it also serves as a propulsion chamber, accelerating the steam output.
Hotter water equates to more steam produced, and ultimately more cleaning capability. Sioux steam cleaners feature 320 degree Fahrenheit pressurized water, the hottest in the industry.

Combination pressure washer steamer units are a great option because they give you the ability to use both pressure washing & steam cleaning when needed. For today's challenger, steam was the obvious choice to cut through tough grease and oil. Learn more about the advantages of steam: sioux.com/why-steam

I practically steam for a living, in the minning industry, everything from 994 loaders and d11 dozers to trains and miners, just got a mobile unit with a 600 gallon tank, that rig alone makes me several thousand dollars a week. Love it about to buy a second setup

Now that's what I need to clean an engine on my latest project. I had a go on it with white spirit and a stiff bristles brush. Well years of neglect on cocked oil and diesel really left a layer, or several layers. That are putting a fight! Negative temperatures are surely not helping at all! ;-)

you forgot to mention that steam also helps to literally melt and dissolve any packed on dirt and grime. If it were cold water with the same pressure instead, it would take much longer.

I’ve been washing tractors and equip for over 20 years and I use hot water pressure washers and yes the hot water does take the oil, grease and dirt off but I don’t understand why u would back the pressure off to that low of a pressure and change the tip. Why not use the regular flat tip that’s about as wide as your hand and more pressure along with the hot water and clean the equipment way faster? I’m not saying that I’m right and you’re wrong or vice versa or anything. I’m just wondering bec the way that u are doing it takes a very long time to get the job done. I’m just talking about washing tractors and equipment with a lot of pressure. I understand why u would turn the pressure down etc to disinfect playground equipment etc

Steam emulsifies Grease, Oil, sticky substances, etc., without back splash, using half the water. It's safer for the operator and quickly leaves the surfaces clean and ready for maintenance or painting.

That’s not a steam cleaner, it’s a hot water pressure washer. I have a Dirt Killer which destroys grease and oily grime on my tractors and other heavy equipment. I also have a Vapor Chief 125 steam cleaner and it’s great for most things including interiors but not as effective on grease. A hot water pressure washer is always the way to go.

  • @SiouxCorporation

Thanks for the comment. Sioux's combination hot pressure washers and steam cleaners perform two distinct functions. By allowing the operator to choose between 200°F high pressure wash or 320°F steam, they have the advantage to safely clean a wide variety of heavy duty industrial equipment. As seen in the video, steam from a Sioux combination machine can quickly emulsify the heaviest oil, grease, and fatty substances with limited back-splash.
