  • @michaelc3977

    @michaelc3977

    3 ай бұрын

    @@redblade8160 It sure was! The VC10 was designed to service African and Middle Eastern routes. The additional propellers were added to aircraft on some of the more 'problematic' routes in an effort to prevent the more primitive natives from clinging to the engine cowling during takeoff. It was messy for a while as the stowaways learned about the danger, but since the engines are at the rear of the fuselage the passengers were spared any concern. It's great to see them represented here.

    Love this, truly. An nice flying in a tight circle, all those flaps in!!!! Question: why not set it up as two pushers? Easier to assemble, no great efficiency loss pushing air past those nacelles and all that aircraft skin? Prop length? Nice model, amazing flying!

  • @voodad

    @voodad

    29 күн бұрын

    Thanks Michael. I decided against pushers as the prop tips would touch the ground at high angles of attack. Also I would have had to move the battery fwd to balance the shift in weight, right into the hard to access middle of the fwd fuselage.
