Indonesian War of Independence
Following the defeat of Japanese in WW II, Indonesian proclaim its independence on 17 August 1945, which followed by harsh attempt of the Dutch Empire to recolonize Indonesia. Vastly overpowered by Dutch superior military technology, Indonesian independence fighter 'Pemuda' managed to resist dutch occupation forces during 1945-1949 war of independence along with diplomatic struggle in the global forum.

don't forget, you have to remember one thing. in 1945 - 1948, Indonesia had to fight once again and we fought against Britain and her allies (india and malaysia) and nica from the Netherlands. luckily we were helped by You Pakistani army soldiers who blocked the British and fought together with the indigenous people of Indonesia. it happened in surabaya, malang and major cities of indonesia. and once again we thank you very much for helping our cause, and thank you also to Egypt and Palestine for helping us materially and spiritually, and thank you to the government of the Soviet Union for supplying us with weapons against the invaders.
Indonesia is a big country. Indonesia has a lot of history. Indonesia has many independence heroes. From all walks of life to the TNI, all are ready to sacrifice for the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. I am proud to be the son of the Republic of Indonesia.

The forgotten war, while media talks about the Vietnam war and the Japanese occupation of asia, not many have realised the struggle these smiley people have gone through for their independence. I almost cried learning how they had to endure a tough rebellion against the Japanese and when it seems that they've finally gotten Independence the dutch came back for round 2. I have so much respect for Indonesian perseverance and determination even when the odds were hugely stacked against them, they fought for their land until the very end, peace from your Northern Neighbours. MERDEKA!!!
