INDIVIDUALISM

In which I touch on just about every topic currently blacklisted on youtube dot com.
But I also did a bunch of animations!!! Which were very tiresome but I’m ultimately pretty proud of hehe
My first draft of this video was a like, 10 minute harangue that I wrote, shot, edited, and then watched over and was like… this isn’t right. So this is attempt 2, and I hope my message carries.
I’m not typically one to be like “wahh I’m gonna get shadowbanned so like and comment” but I would really appreciate it on this video in particular! I feel like this is an important aspect of each culture that a lot of people like, can’t put their finger on.
Idk. Big thanks to my wonderful friend Emmi for the help and feedback she provided me in every step of this video.
Unless you didn’t like it, in which case she wasn’t involved at all and it’s all me.
It was out of place to do a song of the day there but I do love imposing my music taste on others.
Big Freedia, if you’re not familiar, is a really dope Black queer artist who has lots of bops but lately I’ve been listening to N.O. Bounce a lot haha
others include:
Selfish by Little Simz
Outro Freestyle by Steve Lacy
I Ain’t a Real Man by Wax
Romphims and Mimosas by Andrés
I’ve been gone for a while lol you get lots of songs
I hope everyone is doing well. This is an unbelievably taxing time, but you've probably heard that in many chain emails by now.
Drink water, take your medication, care for your skin, all that stuff.
And I'll see you soon.

Hi, I discovered your channel through your Primary colour video and then I watched a few other videos including this one. I must say that you explain complex subjects in an easy way, I love your reasoning skills. Also, it is inspiring that you're making such perfect videos for a relatively small audience with the same passion as someone with over a million followers. Thank You.

3:25 LOL! Well said. My dad used to sing this to us (mockingly) as kids when we couldn't do something for whatever reason.

@@CameronBaba everything is so different now. I miss the chill youtuber sipping on tea in their apartment bedroom just talking about stuff. Everything is a big production or clout seeking cringe these days

Good video, got some questions. Im from the Netherlands and being a western country with a storng individualist culture I can relate, although I do disagree. > Wearing a mask seemingly is a small inconvenience and is Imo to be done out of sheer courtesy during this pandemic. The problem to me is the government involving itself so deeply in my life where it gets to decide what I wear. It comes down to what you feel the government's role ought to be. Personally I prefer a more Lockian kind of government and a self aware populace that regulates itself more in these sort of situations. > As to the BLM thing, you'll have to help me out here since I'm not an American. If you were to take a step back and look at the rioting that is taking place, how does it surprise you that people feel uneasy about the movement? Saying all lives matter to me seems like a way of promoting inclusivity while not having to adhere to the demands and support the actions of the BLM movement.

This is really informative and engaging. I didn't understand the part about "the purpose of masks is not to prevent yourself from getting the disease; it's to prevent the wearer from unknowingly transmitting it to others." Isn't it both?

  • @CameronBaba

Well yes, to an extent- The masks definitely do protect the wearer to some degree, but they protect everyone around the wearer a good bit more. And like, the surgeon general put out a tweet in February saying that masks do very little to prevent people from getting it, which isn't *entirely* untrue but sowed a lot of unnecessary distrust in like, the concept of masks as a whole? Basically yeah, it's a little broad to act like masks don't do anything to protect the wearer. But, that is the assumption a lot of people were operating on anyway, because the operational head of the U.S. health service was saying they didn't. Basically it's all very blurry bc as I'm sure you know we still don't know a lot about how this virus works

Words of wisdom, Cameron. Maybe 5% really get that masks prevents people from spreading the virus unknowingly. You'd be perfect in an ongoing local news segment. Spread the news, not the virus.
