This is the official video of Blanket Barricade’s popular instrumental indie rock song “A Velvet Affair”.
The song, inspired by indie rock bands such as Arcade Fire utilizes lively piano, running bass, cheerful upbeat drums, dreamy synths and tonnes of guitars to an epic inspirational sound to the genre. The track was recorded over a period of 2 years in our Vancouver based studio. To date this is one of the band’s most popular pieces and it has been used as upbeat background music in countless videos, sketches, live events, talk show, video games, documentaries & short films.
Credits:
This upbeat fun indie rock pop track was mixed and mastered by Kevin K. with lots of focus on the catchy piano riff and driving drums to give the song a bouncy happy feeling and uplifting feeling. The drums are played straight and steady with accented hits on the 2 and 4 to give a steady beat for the piano to play over. The joyful piano carries the song and makes it memorable from the first time you hear the opening notes. The bass joins the drums in a steady running rhythm which adds to the upbeat fast nature of the tune. The instruments play it cool on the verse so that on the chorus and bridge they can burst into an epic wall of sound. To add to the epic nature of the song there are also lightly played tubular bells and timpani hits on the louder sections. The bending sound effect that plays throughout the instrumental was added to add a touch of mystery to the song. The art for this song was drawn by Mary-Lee N. and is from the album insert page included with the album.

My videos are hosted on KZread, but 100% of my plays are on Fandalism.com/toothless - No profit, but a lot of more views than on youtube, on average. Honestly the amount of plays are pretty good over there. Hope such use is ok for the right track. GREAT MUSIC
