Navid is a national treasure in Scotland ❤

Sanjiv Kohli is the actor who portrays Navid. One of the running gags of the TV series was that Meena's face (Navid's wife) was never seen, but their (subtitled) insults to each other were fluent and understandable to everyone from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, as in Glasgow, we are blessed to have large communities of all. The writers of Still Game had a bit of a fall out, but came back together after several years, for a live show reunion in 2014. (I know because I worked on it, and the actual 'Meena' was finally revealed.) It sold out a 12,000 seater arena in Glasgow for 21 shows, such was the popularity of the programme. In a comedic way, the show echoed the realities of life for OAPs and those who needed small shops like Navid's to get by. The episode where Navid loses it and berates the pub regulars for shopping at 'Hyperdales' and having to lay off his cleaner (Isa Drennan) was filmed in the Glasgow branch of Costco. The main characters get locked in when it shuts, and accidentally set it on fire, saving Navid's shop! Genius writing and acting!!

The first scene is when they look back the 1970s. Navid is new in the country and learning Scottish phrases. In the present time, when they're all old, he is king of his castle. Which is the shop. But his wife is really in charge.

Stereotypes are funny because they're true. In the real world people love it. Online you've to pretend to hate it lol. Well done guys, great video.

Not the accent- the words. He still has a strong Indian accent he just uses the local dialect correctly. This is actually true- we have loads of Navids in Scotland.

Navid and Winston are the best characters.

Yes I've watched still many times every season and there now on Netflix uk . Sanjeev Singh Kohli .( Navid) . He brilliant he done many things after still gane . I believe he was born un London but moved to Scotland when ge was very small with his parents and i think 2 or 3 brothers . You can definitely here a Scottish accent in him and i think he a screen writer to if im not mistaken. He brilliant very hilarious . 😂😂

If you watch full episodes of Still Game then you Must watch the end of the credits as there's Always a scene at the end of every episode.

If everyone reacted as Navid does when spoken too in the native ( Scottish Lingo ) the UK would be a place of harmony, but too many arseholes complain if someone says something they dont like, and get the Police involved and trouble brews. I say Peace to all, and get it right up ya.

CTF is ace too! That and still game are the first two shows I reacted to on my original channel (I lost it and I’m going back around again with still game now) and I loved both! Winston is my favourite from still game and the sock puppets are my favourite from CTF “Volashie minstrel!”
