I am from Manipur, and i wish the Government start fencing the international border soon to protect the country's integrity and Indian citizens from various issues caused by the porous border. Manipur has been boiling for more than 9 months and illigal immigration from Myanmar is a major factor for the conflict. I expressed my gratitude to the Government for this timely act and request the HM, PM to implement NRC in Manipur to identify Indian citizens & foreign alians.

Nagas, Kukis, Mizos in the hills are never part of India before 1947, but colonized by Indian because of security concerns from the Chinese Invasion. Looking at Nagaland, The last village of Nagaland and Myanmar in international border are all blood brothers living with dual citizenship and they were all Nagas and they share the same food, race, culture and dialects. India needs to protect its border but it doesn’t need to separate families once more without proper planning. Till now they all live together except that one side of their house is India and the other side of their house is Myanmar. How cruel is colonialism back then. Read about the history of Nagaland, if not Manipur side. August 15, India declared its independence and on this day, Indian armies attack our land, burned all our villages and paddy fields,killed many youths who were in defence,ra*** pregnant women and minors and many untold atrocities done to capture our land to be part of India. The ultimate dream of kukis is to have a sovereign state of their own - zalengam or zoland by carving off parts of Myanmar, Bangladesh and of course India, nagas too have been dreaming of a 'Nagalim for Christ' comprising of naga inhabitate parts of Myanmar and India; the unfenced border provides a safe passage for the separatists n drug traffickers 4m the 2 communities. Kukis and Nagas are very much against the notion of border fencing because it hurts their delusional interests and shady businesses. The government of India must take necessary steps to safeguard the border areas of the country as well as to foil these unreasonable dreams.

The biggest mistake done by the government of India is that de-marked Myanmar border on the map without consulting any group or people on ground. Which created a lot of confusion in the border people. Some villages and families were divided suddenly when construction of border pillars were started in the late 1970's. Pillars were constructed according to the convenience of the army wherever they can easily access. As such some large areas of mountainous regions were sided to Myanmar without any group or people knowledge.

In Nagaland many villages in India side have their fields in Myanmar side. In some places the border run right in the middle of villages and even through the middle of houses (thought we don't recognize/acknowledge it). We also have kins and kiths spread on both side. We have been living like this since ages and no one has the right to divide and seperate us by building a fence.
