Michael forensically investigates the Hasbro Indiana Jones figure line from 2008, and discovers lost artifacts in his pursuit to build the ultimate Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones action figure!

I genuinely love Michael's attention to detail and determination to create his perfect figure.
If you told me that Hasbro packaged a "Raiders" Indiana Jones figure with the ESB version of Han's DL-44 instead of a Webley, I'd believe you.
People outside the collecting community might scoff, but your attention to detail is truly amazing and exposes the mindnumbing insanity of just trying to get what you want from Hasbro.

I thought it was pretty fascinating to track down what already existed by the same company then need the special figure to properly do the head as if somebody there set it all up to those who wanted to complete it properly.

I have many friends make nice comments about my collection. I am cleaning out the inside foam that is not is not needed. It was a new foam stone building. I am making this building so to be able the make use the inside of this building. I’m even putting in an up stairs for rooms to rent at the “Ben Bow Inn for my Treasure Island playset. Pictures up on request.
It's like a jigsaw puzzle made from Hasbro's incompetence.

I'm both amazed and slightly horrified at the level of obsessiveness needed to work through the specific's of the holsters on a 3 1/2" action figure line. Well done. I'm also baffled as to why Hasbro would create so many instances of new tooling for something so trivial as the revolver holsters? There has got to be a story behind that somewhere?
I love that Hasbro actually did a 3 3/4" Indy line but... I'm also glad I never fell into that particular rabbit hole. I would have done exactly what Michael did... Got EVERYTHING. I only have so much room and so I passed. Glad to see that with a bit of kitbashing you can have a quite nice Indy figure. BTW happy 40th anniversary, Raiders! Crap, I'm old.
Absolutely STELLAR, Michael. Just a breathtaking ride down an honorable, nostalgic path. RESPECT.
So glad that Broken Vader reminded Michael about MacGyver Part 2. Been waiting on it, and I thought Michael might have forgotten about it. LOL
I love your journeys to creating definitive figures. I never watched or was a fan of indie but i enjoyed this vid alot.
I am very impressed. The amount of work put into creating the ultimate figure is astounding. And in the end, you get an impressive looking figure that meets all expectations.

Thanks man. When I started seeing all these accessories actually in existence, I was baffled why they weren't properly combined.
Great video, Michael and Retroblasting. That’s some great engineering on the perfect Indiana Jones figure.
I really appreciate the incredible attention to detail in your videos. It's under appreciated!
Indiana Jones is MY bag, baby!!!! Great video, despite Broken Vaders pressure....
The absolute sarcasm at the end segment had me rolling. Love your videos Michael.
I swear I live for this kind of "no, I will not settle" kind of video. Bravo.
I spent to much money on Indy figures in 2008
This is the type of video that keeps me watching the channel - thank you
Wow! Haven't seen this much attention to detail since Michael's video on Combat.
Raiders is my favorite movie of all time. I can't tell you how many times I recreated that truck scene with my Indy figures back in the day.
This is a dream video for me thank you. Now I know what I need to make my perfect vintage scale Indy.
That was fantastic Michael. You offered critique and commentary without being depressingly negative. Your attention to detail was amazing and the efforts paid off. It's really too bad that line didn't last longer and that some great stuff at the end became so rare and expensive on the secondary market thanks to the retail support drying up. That Henry Jones senior figure is one of my favorites.
The Toy commercial spoof is so spot on! "NEW FROM HASBRO!" The only thing missing is intense rock music and fast camera work!
Not for nothing, but I honestly think the folks it Hasbro sometimes have these meticulous detail swaps in hand just so you'll buy more than one. Never mind seeing a different figure, but they put different Gear with different figures and different colors so if someone does want to go through this exercise to get the definitive figure they have to buy multiple figures. It's been like this for a few other lines they've done also. So to me as awesome as it is to watch Michael go through this, I am honestly not surprised he had to go through this.

Rush may be a factor, but honestly they can make a killing on variants from any of the movies. . . If they keep missing the mark and produce those tiny differences the diehard "gotta have them all" crowd will chase and of course brag about the score. And those of us that want the best representation, will probably, at a different angle follow suit. Then you get the guys like Michael who are out to assemble that grail if and when need be. Each collector gets their beaks wet and Hasbro collects a profit.
I like what you did with those figures, good job man!
You know what I love about this? It's easy to imagine people rolling their eyes at the "nit picking" and complaining that this is so much fan whining over inane details, but being a true fan of anything is noticing and appreciating those details, because they matter to us and so they should matter to the toy manufacturers. Great job on this, quite a journey but the results aren't to be sneezed at.
Indiana Jones is my all time favorite and this is by far the best figure I have seen of Dr. Jones. BRAVO SIR! BRAVO!!!
Loved this video!!! I love it when you do customs as that is at the center of my wheel house. Thanks for always putting out stellar content. I know it’s a lot of work!!!
At first, I was thinking, "wow, he's being REALLY nitpicky about all these variations!" But, when the final accurate figure was displayed, I was like, "holy sh*t! He totally nailed it!" Nice work and thanks for navigating all the differences!
The passion shows and is appreciated 👍🏻
As a firearm collector who was obsessed with raiders from age 6(the theater poster from our hometown hung above my bed, reenacted the idol swap in my yard, so on) the raiders handgun is even more of an enigma. Ends up it is a smith wesson hand ejector(model name) with the front sight removed and a band driven on the barrel with a non Smith Wesson sight Looking back my dad would take me to see the movies he wanted to see on Sunday nights. I vividly remember raiders, empire, krull and even first blood as a kid. As a dad now I didn't let my kids watch the face melting scene at 6!!!

Indy's choice of firearms appears to have been influenced in part by which country a given sequence was shot in, and which prop guns could legally be acquired.

@@thork6974 mid 90's, pre internet(like we know it now) my best research revealed it came from a British prop house, no clue as to why the barrel was modified, it was already configured like that before the production chose it..
This was fun. Thanks Mike. Looking forward to your full review of the line (as well as the million other videos you’re working on).
Thank you for the depth of info and the laughs, I really enjoyed this.
Wow great video. Congrats on putting together the correct Indy figure, man and I thought finding the correct accessories with different colour versions was a pain in the butt for gi joe figures example Dukes/stalkers gun!
That was AWESOME! Can't wait for your next Indy video.
Absolutely hit the ball out of the park with this one. I can't wait till you do more Indy videos.
These are my favorite type of your videos. Informative. Interesting and well researched.
That was great Michael, now to dig out my figures and start swapping parts! Thanks for all your efforts and sharing. Cheers!
Love this review Michael!
The figure really looks perfect, Michael. I completely agree with you about this. There wouldn’t be a problem if Hasbro hadn’t taken the time to actually make the proper pieces. As to why they were not put together properly is a mystery that may never be solved. Thank you for another amazing video. Cheers!
Absolutely loved this video. A very interesting and entertaining watch! Cheers Michael!
I cannot put into words how much I appreciate this video. Thank you so so much for your care and effort! Haha and I’m JEALOUS!
Happy to see a new Retroblasting video, i was looking forward to it and i enjoyed it very much. Some good information, good research and an eye for details. Have great Halloween and keep up the great work! Keep the love and passion alive!
FANTASTIC!!! it's Great that you went back to the Broken Vader skit. (Always love those) I too was one of the lucky kids who grew up in the 80's and collected every single INDIANA JONES figures and still have them to this day. I even have the doomed Hasbro line as well. i wish Michael, that you would do a video of the 12 inch Indy figures. Keep up the GREAT work!!
Excellent in-depth video👍
Once again. What a great video!
I can't wait for your 2023 Indy figure recap!
Awesome ending! That was fantastic!
thanks for the detail info!.I’ve made a few custom Indy figures myself..White Tux Indy,Prof Indy,Married Indy, end of Raiders suit Indy and Removable Fedoras figs for all the movies.Learned a lot here!
another fantastic video Micheal
This was both the most aggravating (in terms of Hasbro's inability to get one simple figure right) and therapeutic (in your satisfying recreation of Raiders Indy) video I've seen in awhile.
Ultimate Indy is technically correct… the best kind of correct.

Why Retroblasting is the best vintage toy channel, Michael's total attention to detail! Thank you sir!
Oh man...you have exactly my kind of fanboy OCD. I love this video.
Thank you for a great Indy video... can't wait to see what's next 🙂
Thanks, Mike! Looks like I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Love it! Told it like it is. Integrity always wins.
Very thorough and entertaining. 👏
Great video! I like the Habro Indy figures, specially the ones comming with small dioramas, but I never noticed these differences with the movies
Nice work!
Brilliant video. Like you said observation is the key to creating the perfect Indy!
What you have accomplished is simply amazing !🙌
Love your videos!
Wow I never knew that before. Great information!!!!!
Excellent vid.
You seem to make more 2008 Hasbro Indiana Jones content than I see from others! I look forward to an entire vid about the Hasbro line and YES YES YES to Bionic Six part 2!
Michael, this video is simply epic and captivating. There’s nowhere else I know of to get this type of collector entertainment. One of these days I want to involve you in my Uber-project: a 9’ long four-section Tantive IV for the 3 3/4” line. Been at it for almost 2 years now. The body is almost complete. Then comes the finish work
If only Hasbro and LEGO realized that just because a franchise has not received new content in a while, doesn’t mean the fans don’t exist or don’t want toys of said franchise
Wow great video! Thanks for this, I recently went through a very similar situation trying to piece together a decent marvel comic version of 1982 Covergirl in 3-3/4" scale.
Never understood how Hasbro couldn’t get the face sculpt right. They had been doing Han Solo figures for years at this point.
I Love Retro Blasting Studio!
Loved it !
I never consciously noticed Indiana Jones wore “gloves” is most of the movie? That would be hindering to shoot the revolver with? One would think. I mean he is wearing “work gloves”.

I'm not an expert in Cowboy movies but many of them the dudes would be wearing gloves it probably hides the burns for forensics too :).
I found this strangely pleasant to watch. Your hawk-eyed observations and keen planning for your custom are the kind of design principles I love seeing in action. Nicely done, sir. I was in my teens when the Hasbro figures came about, but as much as I adore Indy, I gave them a pass at the time. I just wasn't into 3-3/4" figures (I was a big Marvel Legends/6" fig guy) and the limited hip articulation - same with Star Wars - bothered the heck out of me. Now I'm all into 3-3/4" figs and the only Hasbro Indy figure I own is a *Colonel Vogel.* Managed to find it hiding in the shelves of a toy shop, the last remnant of an age long gone. Seeing this, I really wish I had a 1930s pulp-themed 3-3/4" figure set. Just a bunch of adventurers that you could just play with and have covering all the major archetypes of pulp, including a pseudo-Indy.
I have never made an active effort to collect anything but this is defiantly something I will respect all who take on this monumental quest to achieve their perfect action figure. Thank you for this side story that as always, is entertaining.
Great video!!!!
Great video.
This was a video after my own heart and one I really enjoyed watching. I did some very similar part swapping of the Hasbro line for the same reason. Going back to the Kenner stuff, anyone worth their salt does an Indy head swap onto the body of the Maproom Indy as well to get an Indy with the jacket off. Loved how deep you went into the holster molding from the Hasbro stuff, man. Resisting tagging you in everything Indy on Instagram now... lmao!
I just wish they'd do more with Indiana Jones in media and figures
Wow, that's attention to detail. I wish we had a new Indy line with face printing tech. I never got into this line myself.
good video Micheal
I only bought the machine gun indy on clearance. This is quite a fascinating dive into the lines accessories and costume details. Clearly the design team on this line did their homework to make the parts. Probably later on in the line, and a higher up said it was close enough. Move along.
Nice to find someone else that distinguished between the Webley and the SW 1917 from Raiders and Temple! 😀 I'm into 1/6 accurate Indys, but nice collection you have there! 👍
That looks really good.
3:07 Looks like Indy had a helluva night in the snake pit 😆
Freaking Amazing 👏🏽 Respect Sir!
I know you’re not a huge Lego fan but the Indy minifigures were some of my all time favorite toys.
Random guy 50 yrs from now who won the Indy lot from Melinda on “SkyBay” … wait a minute! These damn Indy figures are all custom jumbled up mix matched! Wtf? Lol

I picked up a bunch of the Indy 2008 figures because they were on clearance dirt cheap! Then I had to pay double, triple, quadruple the price for the other figures when I decided to complete my collection.
Well done 👍
Only you Michael would nitpick a toy nearly to death. lol Keep up the great work.
Always great to see Indy content. :-) Personally, I think the original Kenner line has never been surpassed, even with its limited character range and small playset scale. The only piece I think Hasbro knocked out of the park was the Fabric Canopy version of the cargo truck. That's a must have. That said, I think you really put together a great-looking "Raiders" Indy from those pieces, man.
I’m honestly happy just swapping the Temple of Doom head on the Raiders Truck Chase figure. Yeah he’s a little wide in the legs but I like the added details on the pant legs.
this is amazing
Great, now the 2008 toy line will have a bump in price right when I start completing my set. Thanks, Retroblasting :)
There is no doubt that Hasbro does this purposely to get multiple purchases of reissue sculpts 5x over. They literally do this with every single line they have and it is not by error or chance.
