Indiana Jones Extreme Stunts Behind The Scenes

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Indiana Jones is one of the most iconic film series of all time.
From "The Raiders of the Lost Ark", all the way to the newest film "The Dial of Destiny", Harrison Ford has been pulling off incredible stunts and putting on a show for over 40 years.
Today, we take a closer look at how some of the stunts and chases you've seen on the big screen came to be.
Special thanks to Gary Powell for the amazing insight on what it's like to film stunts for an Indiana Jones movie.

This made me look at Kingdom of the Crystal Skull very differently. I dont mind CGI like most but its nice to have those real sets. Though i though that temple and that crate exploaion was all CGI but this proves me wrong. Props to those stunt actors taking that crate explosion like that.

Nobody can replace Harisson Ford as Indiana Jones, we saw the movie yesterday on the big screen and it was as expected an awesome thrilling experience. If, and I really say IF, there will ever be a sequel or an Indiana Jones 6 it must be with him as Indiana, a sort of story telling action movie were he tells his story to the audience while another person will play his role. CG and digital imaging goes a long way. No actor currently living is capable of doing the Indy character like Mr Ford did. He is truly a one of a kind !!!!!

The making of Raiders is worth a watch if you can find it. Theres a lot explained on the truck chase, such as stomach padding (polystyrene block) it can be see nin some bts moments, also the under the truck, they dug a trench for the stunt guy to have room below the truck to pass under. really cool stuff. and the camera itself was put at a certain speed to make it appear quicker on film, you can see the slate in a shot, and it shows the speed of the camera for this sequence All cool stuff. Temple of Doom was originally called Temple of Death (the name was changed later. I went to the crew screening before it opened as my late father worked on it. So I was lucky. The PG rating came from a few things. It was quite a dark cut that we watched. Initially Mola Rams hand would be seen tearing the guys heart out properly, it was graphic, but the final film it was cut cleverly, there was alot of whipping of the kids and in particular there was a scene where Short round got whipped. If you watch in the scene where Indy gets whipped theres a close up of shorty all dishevelled, that was the part cut away. Its not just the Kate Capshaw stuff being lowered, it was essential y what Ive mentioned. Im glad i had the opportunity to see it before it was cut

I'm amazed that this video starts off with a discussion about the truck scene in "Raiders" but never mentions that most of that stunt was done by Terry Leonard, not Harrison Ford. Ford WAS dragged behind the truck at a slow speed (on a blanket of sorts) for some close-ups. But this video seems to imply that it was Ford who went down from the front of the truck, underneath and came out the other side. That didn't happen.

PG-13 was not established for Temple. It was established for Red Dawn, which came out earlier in the same year. However, Spielberg was instrumental in urging the MPAA to adopt the new standard because he was afraid Temple would get an R rating because it was too violent for simple PG. Also, Harrison Ford only did the closeup shots for the truck scene. The rest was done by a stuntman.

I was able to read the script to City of the Gods. It was much better than the David Koepp script. Indy puts on his coat and fedora roughly 45 minutes into the film. And, he catches up with Marion in a bar, similar to how he met his goddaughter in Dial of Destiny. Although, the Frank Darabont City of the Gods script still had the non-believable refrigerator scene in the script. There's also a much better action sequence along the river later in the film, with Indy on a horse riding along the rapids trying to save his friends from the rapids.

I'll buck the general sentiment and say I could see a reboot with someone else in the future. Harrison Ford is a perfect Indiana. However, Basil Rathbone was a perfect Sherlock Holmes and yet Jeremy Brett came along and made the role his own. Several others have put in respectable showings as well. Harison ford is perfect as Indiana, but I think there's room for someone else to come along and do a great job as well. Probably not right away.

....or people could just be creative and create a whole new character, maybe one who was inspired by Indy, same way a young Indy was inspired by the guy who gave him his first Stetson after recovering the Cross of Coronado. The character could even dress similarly to Indy, again, like Indy's style of dress is similar to other classic-era film characters. In expanding the Indy-verse, you leave room for possible storylines involving other characters, like an adult Short Round (Ke Huy Quan). In the end, to me and many, Indy is in the same category as Luke and Han: these are characters that do not need to be resurrected just for the sake of having more movies with the same characters. Unless, it's Obi Wan Kenobi showing a pre-adolescent Luke and Leia, or how Lucas showed a young Indy at two ages (pre-adolescent and teen) Again, expanding on a story by finding stories within the stories, if you will., while respecting and being cohesive with what has come before.

Love it how Disney shills are trying to ‘bolster’ pile of poop ‘Dial of Destiny’ posting ‘nostalgia’ content like this on KZread in desperation ‘saving’ share price.

Too bad the cinematography in the last two movies is really unwatchable. The lighting on the actors is unnatural looking and overdone, which creates the effect that the surrounding is completely fake. And they should've sticked to practical effects because some of the cgi looks really bad in these last two movies.

There better never be an Indiana Jones movie with anyone, other than Harrison Ford. Let the character go. I’m sick and tired of all the, so called reboots, which are nothing more than ripoffs. New ideas. The damn writers are on strike, we’ll show that you deserve it, with original ideas and jokes, for a change.

The problem with the stunts in Indy 4 is they all cgi, and poor cgi too. Although many were real they just looked fake. Dial of destiny ruined the franchise , sady. Blame Pheobe waller bridge for this, and Kathy Kenndedy.

Yes, it's all CGI... Jesus, here's a video where you can see several scenes from the fourth film, where you can clearly see how many practical effects and traditional stunts were used. On a side note, if you watch the Indy 4 behind the scenes videos, you'll also see that even the nuclear explosion isn't completely CGI. But in the end it doesn't matter. It was cool to hate this movie, just like the prequel trilogy, and you had to cry and whimper over it, even though it was a decent sequel to the previous three movies.

@@gaborlaufer8640 who's been cryimg and whimpeing? You'l get even a modicum or respect by not trying childish insult when discussing nothing more important than a fantasy film. Get some perspective. The person you are rude about also knows if you met them in person you wouldn't say a word, so please. Your comments were fine but leave out the childish insuts, unless you're a child and if so, grow up.
