INDIAN STREET FOOD in Malaysia | SPICY CURRY + BEST Mee Goreng in Penang - Malaysian Street Food
MALAYSIAN STREET FOOD 2018 - Spicy INDIAN CURRY in Penang
Episode 1 : • MALAYSIAN STREET FOOD ...
This is part 2 of our PENANG STREET FOOD SERIES. If you are new to the series/channel, Penang is a historical city, rich with street food. Malaysia is rich with different cultures which means it is also rich with amazing local cuisine and street food! Malaysian street food, Chinese street food, Indian street food and much more!
In today's video, we sample some incredible Indian, Chinese and Malay inspired dishes. We start our day off with some street side roti canai with curry chicken + roti bakar + teh tarik, both Indian and Malay inspired foods. We then try the acclaimed "ice coffee" made by the extremely friendly aunty at Kopi Peng Famous Aunty (or Star Kopi). With her signature star on the kopi, we cooled down with her delicious coffee on the hot Penang day. Next, we head over to an important Hindu Temple, to check out some monkeys and the view over the city. For lunch, a hot plate of mee goreng filled us up. He was a mee goreng master! To end our crazy day of eating, we head over to the very famous Restoran Kimberley for some healthy and hearty duck kway chap.

Proud to be Penangite and Malaysian! This is one of the unique charm of our diverse cultures!!
Malaysian street foods are incredible here, love this video, Luke! 😉👍
Penang hawkers are interesting. Each one does only one dish particularly well for maybe 5, 10 or even 30 years and they hone their skills over the years on that. Their wok also accumulated enough wok hei over the years. On hawkers cooking plate by plate, I also asked a char kueh teow man years back why he did so when he can cook a lot at one go. He replied me, "I'm cooking for people not animals (herd)". That's how much they have pride and respect for their vocation.

There's no winter in Malaysia. We don't really have the typical four seasons in many Western countries. It's hot and humid all year round, but if there are any seasons at all, they would be extremeeely hot season, very hot season, rainy season, durian season, rambutan season, mangosteen season etc 😅. Happy exploring Malaysia!
