Basic Shi'ite Terminologies: Noha- lamenting and beating one's chest in the memory of the massacre in Karbala. Shrine (Roza): where sons of Imam Ali a.s. Imam Husain a.s. and Hazrat Abbas a.s. buried and zaireens (visitors) gathered there in millions to morn. Imam Husain- Grandson of Prophet Muhammad s.a. martyred in Karbala with his 71 companions including his family members i.e. 6months old son. Karbala: Situated in Iraq near the river Euphrates where many tragedies related to Prophets happened in Ashura Ashura: 10 th Muharram when everyone in the family members of Imam Husaain a.s. and his companions brutally martyred by the army (min. 30k mercenaries) of Yazeed leading by Omer ibn Saad with the order of Ibn Ziyad, ruler of Kufa;Iraq. Yazeed: Son of Muawiya, King of nine provinces , who was ruling unlawfully against the islamic teachings. Imam Hussain stood against Yazeed to show the world how cruel the Yazeed is who sat on the minber (takht) of Prophet s.a.
