@Sushanta Pradhan ^^, IFS can become cabinet secretary in Ministry of External affairs but IAS can not become cabinet secretary in MEA.. In IFS you get to meet head of the states, ambassador have lot more authority then you think. After all an IFS is walking embodiment of India. When he/she talks, its India talking. Whatever he/she does, its India's action. Ambassador has the full power to declare war on any country, if he/she declares it, in news you would see India declared war on xyz nation... Of course I'm not trying to brag and I intend to keep our debate healthy but just making sure you know what IFS means

She said , "for example , if I take French..!!" She actually took French and now posted in Indian Embassy Antananarivo , Madagascar ( French speaking nation )

I am willing to start preparation for upsc, so I am roaming about different civil services that upsc provide and for me IFS tops the list, thanks for providing such a great overview of the roles and responsibilities of an IFS officer. @@SHARMAzzzz If you want to travel or stay abroad then IFS, or if you want stay in india and live professionally then IAS is best.

Does IFS allow spouses to stay with the IFS selected candidates during the training period and also when they are posted in language learning institutes abroad for the duration of their course? Christopher Toppo ..Hello! My answer to your question is yes. When ifs officers are given training in Delhi and thereafter in foreign country they are allowed to be with their family/parents.

Hello, Mani Madam! I just saw your video. And I really loved it. Diplomacy has always fascinated me. I have one question which might seem slightly off the topic to you. But, it is really important to me. And I would love it if you answer my question. My question was, is it possible for an IAS officer to become an IFS officer? Or can an IAS officer quit his service and prepare once again for CSE in order to become an IFS officer? Is it possible or are there any restrictions or something?

There are 2 services in which once you get selected than you can't give upsc again for another services that is ias and ifs. So if you want ifs get it in the first place against ias after joining ias you can't switch to ifs and vice versa. Hope you get your answer

If you have rank within 100 & your first preference is IFS , you will get to work as IFS. Eg: your rank is 51 & first preference is IFS, you can work as IFS officers

Focus on all the social science NCERTs in your school life...make notes of it exclusively for UPSC....if you do this task honestly....rest will be alot easier.

Delhi knowledge track. I appreciate the work you are doing. Kudos! :-) But it will really be helpful if you provide videos on other services in UPSC as well. For instance DANICS, iofs, ies and many more
