Indian Char Koay Teow, Mount Erskine - The Hidden Coffee Shop with Few Good Food

Normally the Char Koay Teow stalls in Penang are fried and prepared by the Chinese, but seldom got Indians that fried Char Koay Teow. However, there is a stall at Gerbang Erskine Chye Coffee Shop that fried Char Koay Teow. It is prepared by Tan-Ka Chi (Young Sister in Tamil) Miss Kirrthini. The Char Koay Teow is packed with wok aroma and the taste is competitive with the good Char Koay Teow around. Beside the Char Koay Teow here is the Asian Fried Stall also selling good Pattaya fried rice and the rest that great for dinners to check out.
Char Koay Teow - RM7
Char Koay Teow with egg - RM7.50
Pattaya Fried Rice - RM8

I think the Char Koay Teow will be no different from the Chinese version, since it is Chinese style. Would love to try when I am back in Penang. Look lovely and delicious.

"Is your grandmother Chinese.?" That's as per the subtitles. Really? What kind of question was that Steven? What was said was a comment that her grandmother is Chinese. What kind of comment was that? Racist much? Typical MCP.

I don't see that is a problem. First of all, CKT is Chinese food if a non-Chinese know how to cook either they are related to Chinese or close to Chinese. Somemore is teach by her granny, what is wrong to ask if the granny is Chinese? This is nothing to do with racist, you think too much

@@48Holiao I think too much? Would you ask a Malay person if a Chinese taught them? Did you ask the man who fried the Pattaya fried rice if a Thai taught him or he's connected to a Thai?

@@mannelim yes, I would ask the same questions too. For an Indian to sell Char Koay Teow in a Chinese area is like a Chinese selling chapati at Indian Market, it is not easy definitely. Either you have a recipe that is much better than the usual Indian that already day in and day out knows how to make Chapati or you have a very strong inherit background that can support your recipe. If she is Chindian I would be very proud of her, if she is not I will solute her for her bravery and guts.

@@48Holiao but you did not ask him. This can go on and on and you'll continue to deny any hint of racism, culture profiling. I will not continue talking to someone so in denial. Just because you can 'feel the aroma', doesn't make you classy. A monkey with a diamond is still just a monkey.
