Indian Challenger vs Indian Chieftain - FIRST TIME RIDING INDIAN'S | Indian Motorcycle Boise

On Todays video we ride INDIAN MOTORCYCLES for the FIRST TIME! It was a trip getting on these new Indians and ripping almost a 100 miles in the day. We mainly focused on comparing the 2023 Indian Challenger Darkhorse and the 2021 Indian Chieftain Limited. These bikes are both badd! and are very smooth and powerful, however we defiantly picked a winner of the day at the end!
Thanks for your support, your view, like, comment or subscribe is very much appreciated.
Big shout out to Hunter and Indian Motorcycles Boise for helping us make this video and test ride happen!

I bought a 2019 Chieftain Dark horse about a year ago. I road the street glide and road glide and the chieftain won me over hands down. All the bells and whistles you get over the Harley for the money, the suspension and ride was just way better. Chieftain is the best bike I have owned.

Great to hear a fair dinkum honest review for a change. I bought myself a Chieftain darkhorse last year and absolutely love it. Haven't changed anything on it yet as I'm just enjoying riding it. I came from riding old school sports bikes and was so impressed by the handling of the Chieftain that it had me wondering why I didn't look at one sooner. I've just hit the subscribe button, too. Cheers from Aus

I have only rode a challenger for two short test rides. I have over 61,000 miles on a Roadmaster. Love the power of the Challenger. However, I prefer the Chieftain. I need to rent a Challenger and crush some major miles before picking a firm winner. After owning 6 Harleys, I prefer Indian Motorcycles.

I had a 2015 Chieftain and rode it 105,000 miles and loved it. I then bought a 2021 Challenger and rode it 32,000 miles and like the man said in the video I just couldn't get comfortable on it despite buying new bars an a custom seat. Now the Challenger is a great bike but it's not the bike for me. I sold the Challenger 2 months ago and bought a 2024 Chieftain and have ridden it almost 6000 miles now. I am so, so glad to be back on a Chieftain and riding the Thunderstroke engine. I'll never have any bike but a Chieftain again.

I owned a RGS for about 30k miles. I was always frustrated with the suspension even after several thousands of dollars on 3 different brands of aftermarket brands. Some were a bit better than stock, but nothing came close to the ride quality and comfort of the chieftain. I traded in my RGS for a chieftain limited and enjoying every mile.

I was torn between the Chieftain and Challenger. I loved them both. I know a lot of people love the Challenger, but something about the Chieftain felt better to me. I ended up purchasing a 2022 Chieftian Dark Horse and I'm not at all disappointed with my decision.

Just made my transition to Indian from Harley...traded my '16 Ultra limited for 23 Pursuit. The seat did get some getting used to as you are right up on the tank...but it is still very comfortable....the handling and power if FAR superior to my ultra limited.....I think I will stick with Indian for a long time.

I thought the challenger was my dream bike and was ready to walk in and buy it out right. Then I took it for a ride... and I didn't love it... Felt bulky, the faring was so large, I felt like there was an open suitcase in front of me. Everything felt extra wide apart and I didn't find it that comfortable after a 30 min ride. I didn't buy it, but the sales guy told me to test the chieftain but I was hesitant. But after watching this, I think that's probably the bike for me! THanks for the video guys

I’ve had two Roadmasters that I routinely rode set up as the Cheiftain is. I also have a Challenger and now a Pursuit. My take is the Challenger or Pursuit stock bars do suck. I changed them out for a set of KST Lakota bars, fixed that problem… Then, the stock Challenger seat was fixed with getting the Indian heated seat option for the Challenger but came stock on the Pursuit. Problem solved… As far as sound from the stock Challenger or Pursuit, remedy that with a good set of aftermarket exhaust (slip ons or full exhaust) and you’ll get the rumble you are used to. My first thought on the Challenger was that the sound of the bike had no soul. That was fixed with a set of Rush Warhorse slip ons. To me, the Challenger or Pursuit is a better option due to the larger tank, better brakes (Brembo) and the fixed fairing. The fully liquid cooled 108 also appeals to me. The 116 is a great looking engine and it is very good in its own right but that 108 is just a stronger engine. Much stronger. But hey, I’m glad you guys took the time to test ride the Indian bikes. It would be fun to see you guys ride a Challenger or Pursuit with some aftermarket goodies on it and then get your takes.

Thanks for the killer comment and suggestions! We defiantly think the Challenger would be killer with some aftermarket mods to it. We both just love an air cooled engine "rumble", coming from Harleys, more commonly Twin Cams Harley engines. We are looking forwarding to doing more test rides on some Indian's!

I absolutely love my Roadmaster. Plenty of power, very planted, comfortable for days, overall it's just great. And I'm starting to notice a lot more Indians even though I live in a small Oregon town. It's not because you just notice what you own, but more likely because a lot more people are switching to Indian.

I thought so too but changed my mind when I test-rode it. My Roadmaster is just so much more comfortable and the engine sounds so much better more manly and less high-pitched buzzy sounding like a Civic or Jap sports bike. Some younger guys like the sporty feel better but as an older guy, those days are past now i just want comfort and low-down torque and my Roadmaster has all of that in spades.

I've had many Road Glides and street glides for 20 years and I guess I just got used to people rolling their eyes, test rode an Indian loved it then bought a 2019 chieftain darkhorse, after a couple hours I had to get off of it (just in time for a fuel stop) just like all the Harleys I've had. 2022 I rented a challenger for a day and holy shit... I didn't hurt! I didn't want to get off! Sooo I ordered a 2023 challenger dark horse ICON and got it October 2022, done all kinds of mods to it, still waiting for the ECU to be hacked just like Harley guys are waiting for to get rid of that blasted 115 mph limiter. BUT best of all.. no more eye rolling from my friends and family I'm no longer a ROLLING CLICHÉ

Hard core Harley fan boys will not switch even if they ride one and know its better that's also what turned me off about Harley its like a cult thing or for people who desperately want to look cool or come off as a tough guy. Of course i am generalizing this is just a minority but enough of one to turn me off. Most Harley fans are just regular folks who buy because they like the style. Harley makes some nice looking machines the 2020 Deluxe in pearl white is probably the nicest looking stock bike i have ever seen. If i was rich i would have one of those too but i needed a bike the wife would be comfortable on as well as me.
