remember they are all corrupt from head to toe and they are commission,collection,corruption govt,only this fellow talks as if they are do gooders, actually what is happening in tamilnadu for all the ills now facing because of these corrupt people and most of the ministers of present government indulged in corruption and amassed wealth in untold proportion.guys who don't have resources to feed their families now owning schools and medical colleges thousand and thousands of land parcels allover tamilnadu.what is ridiculous is the fact that for just 67 crores Jayalalithaa was sent to prison and these fellows who swallowed thousands of crores of public money throwing away to gullible poorest people mere two hundred rupees to procures their votes and swindle more and more,judges of the courts were district secretaries of this party and looking other wayround to help these goons escape,such is the situation here.

PTR is full of well articulated noise than real substance. The anglo-saxon Karan Thapar is his best listener. Look at what happened to Lehman Bros where PTR was Head of Trading. We had a gambler for a Finance Minister in Tamil Nadu. In a way it is good he is not Tamil Nadu's FM anymore. Thief Stalin woke up to the reality and moved him out of Finance.

I clicked thinking that I will listen 5 mins...I ended up listing to the whole interview. What a thought provoking conversation. Everytime I am awe of this man. Hope he becomes PM of the country and improves the lives of not just TN but all. God bless him and his family.

I am listening to this interview for the 10th time. All the times I felt that this interview ended abruptly and it should have continued for another 30 minutes or more. You correctly said many IAS think or others think that all of them are 10-headed Ravana's and 20-handed to keep hands in 20 committees. experienced officials agree with me that they are good organizers but poor knowledge but boast that they know everything in fact they do not know anything but steal facts and knowledge from one officer's specialist and pass it on to another committee as if they know it but in fact, all of their ideas are borrowed. They work with authorities but with no real knowledge in anything. Putting them in many and various committees only makes them feel proud and they can not do justice to any one committee. so hereafter one officer should have one portfolio only so that they can think make ideas rather than symbolically chairing and taking a salary. we should change at least now after 75 years of independence to become independent of IAS. They were appointed because there was no specialist and now many experts are available so the IAS should be phased out slowly as they are part of political corruption and not doing their constitutional duties in spite of the constitutional post they occupy. Most of them are greedy for money and power. They should leave specialist departments only to be administrative. All heads of the department post to be given to concerned department specialists who are working in their department for many years. If anybody is not fit to be head of the department they should resign and go home.

His mastery over language, facts and figures and marshalling of points, and the articulate and down to earth manner in which he conveys them with out being rhetorical is amazing. He is a rare intellectual politician or should I say a thorough bread financial professional that our country needs. He calls a spade a spade. He will go places India needs to tap his experience and expertise. I salute him for what he is doing for the country.

@@manchikantimurty7375 no. Partly true. Former tn cm and dmk president, mr. M. Karunanidhi was the man who identified him and give IT wing president in 2006 to 2011 dmk government. He insisted ptr 2 come to politics. Now ptr asked for different department after winning 2021 TN MLA elections. But stalin changed his department and gave him Finance and Human Resources Department. Stalin only changed his posting. Thats all. Only karunanaidhi introduced him into dmk n politics.

A very intelligent and wise politician

A very interesting interview. Mr Thiagarajan has explained all issues clearly and fearlessly. He has avoided direct attack on PM but has indicated his incompetence and dictatorial style succinctly. Human nature finds way to normalise conditions and capacity to bring down powerful, dictatorial regimes with Hitler and Indira Gandhi's examples. @Karan: a humble request. Could you please arrange to have this interview with PTR into all the possible regional languages and allow it to flow across the country! I do watch most of your shows and I would say this is one of its best and have never seen the person sitting across you have answered all your questions soo good! This definitely has all the content to be propagated through out the country to understand the real Dravidian politics and it’s ideologies!!! This certainly would be the best of the best of your all interviews that I have seen through. Thanks for bringing PTR to your program and unravel his political discourse!!!!

How coherently he linked the sense of self-respect, to rationalism and political self-determination!!! Only a truly well read and wise person can speak with such intellectual clarity. Thank you TN for electing such a great leader. Hope to see him steer the country from the center in the future.

Being an NITTian and person from Madurai Central constituency I could connect easily with PTR. Very proud to do so. This interview is very well made and appreciate both PTR and Karan. This is the first time Karan was so calm and listening to his guest. I remember his bad day with former TN CM Jayalalitha. PTR has put forth the perception of South Indian in every aspects like State Autonomy, GST, Demonetization, Economy, Pakistan and India relationship.. awesome interview.

One of the Best interviews I have ever seen in my four decades of following Indian politics and economics.

This man is rightly a minister…well versed, knowledgeable, bold, caring…provides hope continued success of our country

This two language policy has been implemented by ANNA ( Founder of the DMK). Tamilnadu still following this policy regardless of party. Mr. P.T.R is one of follower of great leader.

He later went to America, worked in Lehmann brothers till 2008 collapse, then worked in Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, MBA in Sloan School of Management, Degree in Buffalo University in New York. He is also an Investment Banker, with economics phd. 1st Time MLA and Former IT Wing President of DMK Party (3rd largest party in Parliament). Now he is TN Minister for Finance, Human Resources, Pensions, Accounts and Administration of TN Government. Dmk has set up a new party office in delhi, Near Parliament. Stalin CM and PTR may come to national politics any time. Nirmala studied in some random RSS BJP school in Trichy. Today is Nirmalas Birthday, 20th August 2022. After that I dont know kuch about her. Sorry.

Wow! What an interview! It's always a great pleasure to watch Karan's interviews but this one was exemplary! PTR is truly God sent to break the bones of BJP & RSS that is committing such atrocities in the name of God and religion! We south indians are strongly against communal politics, castism etc, I hope our north Indian friends also understand the jumla politics of Modi and join us in actively working towards uprooting Modi, BJP and RSS from India. What we need is inclusive growth, secularism, social justice and truly become a super power.

The moment I started to listen to his words, I paused the video to search for his educational background. Such a visionary leader. He should be in national politics.

Certainly one of the best interviews in recent times, and quite timely too. PTR was forthright, to the point, and immensely sensible - frankly, something quite uncommon in these times of empty rhetoric, false narratives, jingoism and worse. We are lucky that some parts of the country has not descended into insanity. And yes, would like to thank Mr Thapar for bringing in the oft forgotten part of India into the picture.

The leaders at the top of Indian government cannot even understand what he is talking about. That is the tragedy of India.

He seems like a genius. He makes FM Sitharaman look like a novice. It is kind of humiliating.

I want him as India’s Finance Minister. Period.

This is why Tamil nadu is progressing well, bcos of progressive thinking and not indulging in religious and indo-pak nonsensical debates

Don't be fooled. Come pay a visit to TN government schools and you still see the nonsense. PTR is just a drama king, most of what he says is just lies. TN has the highest debt after Punjab and it's traveling towards financial ruin. People vote on freebies and money (yeah pathetic, this culture was started by dear PTR s party. Corrupt to the core)

After hearing this brilliant interview, I'm thinking about our FM Mrs Nirmala S Not elected, No vision, No knowledge, No ethics No professionalism, Poor body language Only quality she has to become FM is "born as brahmin". Hats off Mr PTR. Such a positive approach... Simply the best. I will vote for him either to become our next PM or next FM.
