India Today Conclave 2023: The Cast Of Archies | Gen Z Bollywood; The Archies Cast
Monika Shergill, vice-president, content at Netflix India, said that The Archies is going to be the biggest film of the year on the streaming platform. She said the film was going to be released during the holiday time to "bring joy" to everyone.
Reema Kagti, The Archies writer and producer, spoke about why she chose the show to be set in the 1960s era. "We were trying to create a Riverdale in India and make it real," she said.
When asked if working with budding actors such as Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, among others, was difficult, Reema Kagti said that they were not. Rather, she said, they were "enthusiastic" and "hard-working".
Agastya Nanda, playing Archie in the 'The Archies' film, said that the one thing he has in common with his character was that both of them love music. When asked about his role model, he said his grandmother Ritu Nanda was the one he looked up to.
Khushi Kapoor on playing Betty Cooper in 'The Archies': "I identified with certain parts of her. She is sweet and caring, but at times she can be too sensitive." In addition, she said that the best advice she received was to "have fun and relax" as she can get a bit nervous on set.
Mihir Ahuja on playing Jughead in The Archies: "We were put in bootcamps for singing as it is a musical. I also had to learn how to drum because Jughead plays drums."
Vedang Raina, who plays Reggie Mantle in The Archies, said that he always had an inclination towards the performing arts. Raina revealed that when he was younger, he was fascinated by the film Krrish, starring Hrithik Roshan.
Suhana Khan, who plays Veronica Lodge in The Archies, said that she hopes to have the confidence that her character has. Khan further spoke about studying acting, explaining that the reality was different. Suhana said that although she was "extremely nervous" at the beginning of the show, director Zoya Akthar made them feel "comfortable" on set.

"Raggie" has the real talent here also his good physic helps to gain more popularity in this movie. He has already created a particular fan base. Also he told in his interview that he actually auditioned for the movie which is really logical. All the best for him.

I feel grateful and blessed for that. I was born in India, went to a very good high school and moved to the United States…so I can say I grew up watching American shows and movies! Its a show for people of elite background. The time period of the story was set at a time when India was struggling with food insecurity. Its a story for a niche audience and have nothing to with being educated or classy. Most Indians doesn't like their elites as they want to be Americans with no class and live in a bubble with gender studies degree.

What do you mean by classy audiences? I also grew up in India was educated in a convent high school then went to America and watched American shows and my problem is if I want to watch all this I can watch Hollywood but nothing like this ever existed in the 60s in India. My problem is how brainwashed these kids are bowing to a superior culture. Maybe Vivek Agnihotri is right. These nepo kids hate India but are stuck due to their baap dada ki milkat. You too are super judgmental because you are also judging others as illtreat trash who may not like this kind of cinema. I have not seen one Indian of the 1960's in the trailer. This movie is not about rich or poor as I am not poor. This movie is about a bunch of rich kids who hate India and are trying hard to make India into some western country but do not have the imagination or creativity or any idea of how to do it. So they just make sasti copies of US OTT's like Barracuda Queens or even Riverdale for that matter. Even the name here is Riverdale. It is this attempt at making a quick buck off of the naiveness of the younger generation that is the problem.

It was purely Zoya’s idea to come up with this, at the end of the day it is a film! So where this 60’s thing popped up from ?! We all know it originally originated in the states but this is just another version of it created and directed in India for the Indian audiences with all cast from India! It is a great moment that Indian directors and writers are not less either. At the end of the day, people are going to watch movies and start their life like they do ! Why worry so much about it !

For a leading publication such as India Today to be calling a group of individuals, who are representative of the highly discussed nepotism phenomenon in Bollywood is a bit low. This is not representative of “India Today” at all and is of no encouragement to the younger generation. Instead maybe they could consider calling the ISRO team behind Chandrayaan, or Pragnnanandhaa or Neeraj Chopra and their team etc,

In this interview what's been the most noticeable and interesting factor is that the 3 or 4 outsider's that came sounded and looked so talented, confident and full of life. However, I found the Nanda guy, Suhana and Khushi so average , undeserving with zero talent, knowledge and ability. Nevertheless, just like all other bollywood stars kids I'm willing to see what they can do. But really the girl that sang my full bet is on her. Now whether she'll get the opportunities like the insiders is to be seen.

I wonder what TALENT one could possibly tell from a short interview? It's not like you have their movie to base your unfounded judgments on. Just say you hate non-outsiders and sit down. Until you see the films and watch their career, you have no basis for calling Suhana, Nanda guy and Kushi "average, undeserving with zero talent, knowledge and ability" UNLESS you are a hater with nothing more productive to do. The outsiders would not share in your baseless comments; after all, Shahrukh Khan (you know the King Khan? and the father of Suhana Khan) is "The Outsider", so pls grow up.

I was born and brought up in India and read The Archies alongwith Panchatantra stories and other regional comics... And no, I'm not one of those "elite" society members. It's just what someone could get their hands on and simply read them :) no comic is "stupid" or worthless
