We will get there with strides in defence, chips, as well as space booming and other sectors will follow suit. It may take a decade but we will be there as long as a visionary party rules in India.

This is not a long term solution, we have to export to Russia in order to neutralize the stockpile of rupees otherwise Russia will not trade in rupee-rubal. We can export cars, food products and other local indian products to Russia so that Russia could decrease its dependency on china

No, it is not a best solution until chinese currency Yuan is out of it. Otherwise it'll only benefit china more. For your understanding , i will explain in simple words. Lets say Brics Currency is called Bupee , now if India buys Russian oil of $ 50 billion and pays it in bupee to Russia then Russia will buy other products like electronics etc from China in those Bupee brics currency , it will only increase the value of Yuan chinese currency. We have very few export items to Russia. Meanwhile it will allow more Chinese exports to other Brics country. It wouldn't be a problem if India was as strong as China in manufacturing. It is because of Congress that we are behind them. But thankfully , current govt is smart and doesn't agree to such Brics currency, so Russia is forced to invested back in our economy instead of using it to buy Chinese products.

Wo India ke hath me nahi he, India may escape sanctions because it plays a key role in balancing Chinese influence but any other small country will be destroyed with western sanctions and we are not that big of a export powerhouse like China yet for countries to keep our currency as reserve yet. Wo country kya karega rupees ka pyaaz kharidega?

Ek rule add on karna zaruri lagata hai , ki kabhi bhi Russian companies apne shares aur dusari investments koa inturn Chinese koa sell / transfer nahi kar sakte .

This is a good news for India. Russia can now invest in various diff sectors of India , readymade capital for Indian projects.

ind should have proposed for greater market access in russia.. And what imports are made from china alone could be diversified partly with india provided on availability of such goods for export by india to avoid over dependency on china by Russia..

It's also very dangerous for Indian rupee, if Russia dump all the rupee in open currencies market, our rupee will fall drastically

But why Russia is not buying anything from India. We need to find the list of products we can export to Russia. Its not always win win situation for Russia. Our trade deficit is pretty high. We have earned from oil, but we need to export to Russia.

This is short or long term solution, depending on nature of their investment. They will invest in projects of PLI, of their interest goods, they will import the goods produced afterwards. If they are importing from middle east, they can trade in Rs.

All of the things that Russia exports are raw materials and they don't process them locally in Russia. They are dependant on the West to provide them with high tech products or finished good. India needs to start manufacturing high end products that we can sell to Russia. They are currently sanctioned by the West and are in short supply. We have to be very proactive in this as any delays would enable China to fill this gap (which it is already doing to some extend).

Believe that all the western malls in Russia have closed shop. Feel if Jio, DMart etc takes over those malls our Indian Rupees in Russia could come handy to an extent besides other products that our marketers can sell!

This does not solve anything. Once Russia invests in India, the problem remains. What do they do with the Rupees ?., which have likely now increased even more.

Very good step by GOI.

We should adopt to Renewable energy as fast as possible. Dependencies on crude Oil is the biggest factor for India's drawback.

Your concern is valid. But India needed to do something so as to not force Russia to do something drastic: dump the Indian rupee in the international currency market which would negatively impact the dollar exchange rate of INR. And yes, this is a stopgap measure. But it serves primarily as an assurance which says “look, we have not abandoned you in your time of need. You can depend on us.” That will give both countries breathing room to sort out the lopsided INR reserve issue. After all, the sanctions would eventually be lifted and then Russia will not be as pressed for foreign currency as it is now.

What about Russian market ? Oil and gas investment option for india, is it available?
