India’s First Female Pro Surfer Says Our Beaches Are Disappearing

Ойын-сауық

It’s the off-season in Udupi, but Ishita Malaviya, India’s first female pro surfer, is already worried about the state of the swell due to rising sea levels and disappearing beaches. She also tells us why she believes educating the next generation on environmental issues like plastic pollution is integral to protecting our planet.
Ishita’s story is part of our Commonwealth Games 2022 series. Before the games kicked off, BBC Three spoke to athletes across the Commonwealth about the sports under threat because of climate change and what they are doing to make a difference.
