He said that India's economy had benefited from its strategic partnership with Russia. You forgot the part about the Indian soldiers who were fighting for Japan. Also, the west had to use West Africans to win in that theater. The west Africans dominated the Japanese. They were immune to malaria.

India and Russia both r smart enough to have good ties for mutual benefits .
India is not US, who forgets its ally when the situation like this happens. Russia is our time trusted ally, when no one helped India during 1971 war with Pakistan only Russia then USSR stood by us that made India win that war. So now its our turn to keep that friendship without bearing the pressure from west.
