MANGALORE is known as the Ice Cream capital of India.... IDEALS ice cream is the most delicious and best ice cream in India and definitely a must try on your visit to Mangalore ❤️

I was asking you to come to Mangalore when I was there. (I’m back in the US). But better late than never. You didn’t go to St.Aloysius Chapel with Frescoes commissioned by Italian Jesuits in the 1800s, nor the adjacent museum. Also the Gokarnath Temple. Try the unique mangalorean Cashew macaroons from the sweet shop or the unique savory (my favorite sweet potato sticks called locally as “Sonteh”. There is a type of unique idly , generally prepared by the Christian community (Mangalore has a big community) called “Sanaa” that is great with curries especially when made with toddy, though sadly now mostly yeast is used. Mangalore is known for various popular ice creams.Sea food is unique, but as a vegetarian you are missing out on that. There are couple of beaches. 3 hours from Mangalore is the famous 300 year old 180 feet stone carving of Mahavira in Karkal.. In coondapur there is a beautiful Kempinski resort worth spending time for tranquility..

Nice place near where I studied. I studied in an Engineering college Karnataka regional Engg College Surathkal . Great campus nearby to Mangalore
