Gambhir serious dikhte hain strict hain pr he has no hatred towards senior players. He talks about Indian cricket and its betterment media bs negative dikhana chahti unko. He is our legend 😊

Sharma's exit is good and important. At some point, there has to be a smooth transition or else we would end up in a similar position like Sri Lanka, Pakistan where all of sudden they don't have a balanced team or have an inexperienced team without proper exposure. India is the only team in the subcontinent that had smooth transitions in past 20 years due to which we never had imbalanced, unstable or terrible teams. That is one reason why we had consistent and good performances in the past 20 years (with exception of 2007 WC when Greg Chappell tried to break this balance) Right from Ganguly era --> Dhoni era ---> Kohli & Rohit era --> Gill & Hardik era , the transitions were smooth where players retired at the right time to give chance to the next generation to take over. The next generation has been given enough mentorship and mentorship by previous generation to take over. I hope Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh follow the suit.

Mass retirement of senior players will have little impact on our T20 or ODI team, but can have a significant impact in Tests. Indian Test team went through a terrible phase during early 2010s, suffering back to back 4-0 whitewashes in England and Australia, worst being the home Test series loss to England in 2012. Kohli, Rohit, Jadeja and Ashwin will be retiring from Tests in the next 3-4 years, our management has to make sure the transition will be smooth.

It is always good to be asked why did you retire rather than being asked when will you retire. I'm sure Rohit and Virat have long thought after it and then taken this decision. It is one thing to have the skills and passion but stretching your body to the limits also has a limit😅 Watching podcasts such as these gives us hopes that there are so many sensible people in Pakistan and there is still hopes for the country..

Arsalan, I heard the live PC where Rohit clearly states that he had decided it before the tournament itself, and it was not something that has come due to Gambhir. To clarify, Gambhir has also stated that if RoKo fail to perform in CT, then they may be relieved from team and new folks will be made permanent. No conspiracy. I think Rohit, Virat and Gambhir have enough talking terms, and understanding that they can sort this out. Also, in India coach has power but not autocratic power. So, its a equation where players also have a say, if they perform.
