Since this game is "the most played and watched" in all of subcontinent. As British took the game to her colonies where the game evolved and spread in different variations like T20,ODI and TEST cricket T20 : fast paced 3hrs .Infact T20 saved the declining popularity of the sports in all cricket playing nations. ODI : One day international 8hrs😴 Test Matches : 7hrs/day for 5days where lunch and Tea is served as well 🤔😖🤐........................😂 But Test Cricket is the ultimate form of the game definitely not for the age groups of "Reels and tic tok era" but it reflects "life" ....ups and downs, battle within a battle slow and steady wins the race.........😇 Trivia: in USA cricket was played way back in 1700's... And George Washington playing cricket , there's documented evidence on this . Philadelphian cricket team existed for atleast 50years before WW1

Since US are the hosts in 2028, perhaps that's the reason they were able to push their sports into the Olympics... India prolly is planning to bid for hosting 2036 Olympics... hopefully if we win it, we also get to add some of our ancient sports like Kabaddi, Gatka etc. And as u said with Khelo India, it must be used as a platform to revive regional sports from each n every state, & keep the traditions going. It's our heritage.

Only Indian origin sport which has strongest chance of making it in Olympics is Kabaddi. It's part of Asian games which is recognised by Olympic committee. If it gets popular in Europe instead of just Asia then Kabaddi could indeed be a global sport. As for Gilli Danda, it's a primitive children's game. Baseball was inspired by British children's game rounders too, if we manage to develop and modernize Gilli danda in a similar manner then who knows it's possible but I don't think it would be possible. Tough competition from cricket and baseball.
