It’s a great movie, but, there was a dust bowl for 6 years in the US, in the 1930’s that the movie featured, it already happened and there was no advance in technology then.

The idea is that Earth was quickly becoming uninhabitable. I think the director avoided direct reference to climate change to avoid politicizing the movie in the US Great book BTW, the Uninhabitable Earth.

Actually, its precisely because india is so populpus that they can be more careless with technology.
