    How to make sure that the eggs are going along well. Turn the flashlight on your phone on and put it up to the egg or use a small flashlight and put it up to the egg. You'll then see the yolk do this once every day. Once you start seeing veins pop out you know everything is going along smoothly. After about maybe a week depending on what you're raising a duck or chicken you will start to see a black dot Hence that is the chick forming. If you don't see anything after a week and maybe because your egg is not fertilized. For those who haven't watched the full video skip to 3:13 to see an example

    Some chicks apparently also drown in the shell if the humidity is too high and not enough fluid evaporates. Dry incubation may help with certain types of eggs prone to that

    Thank you for this video, wondering why some of my eggs haven't hatched, humidity perhaps but could see movement in 2. I've read that Maran egg shells are so hard it's difficult for the chick to pip (candling is difficult too because they're so dark) and sometimes they need a little help to hatch🌼🐤

    I have problems with my BCM also. Not only with hatching, but crippled and blind chicks. So I get different roosters or hens and try different mating's. I also think one hatch I tried, but egg turner wasn't moving. I always seem to have a lower hatch rate with them. My Americauna and leghorns have a higher rate, Hard to know just how close the relationship is with the hens and roosters. I have gotten eggs in several places, but they always say Greenfire and one other name. The hatch I am doing now I have had a temp spike and don't know if it was the thermometer reading wrong. Put in new battery and so far no more spikes. Will do first candle tomorrow to see. May have to toss the whole load and start again. So it becomes difficult when that happens. Anyway did you do another hatch? How did it turn out? Will be checking out your other videos and maybe you will answer the question. Great video thanks.

Sorry for my English . thank u for your time

  • @ChickenHues

    @ChickenHues

    5 жыл бұрын

    For chicken eggs the temp Should be 99.5 F. The humidity should be around 40-50 for the first 18 days and 65-70 during hatch. Too high at the end can cause the chicks to drown in the shell, and 80% is pretty high. Although, that may not have been a factor. I hope that helps! 😀

    I've tried eggs from my own flock and other flocks. Eggs are fully developing but not hatching. This is depressing me. I've tried 4 different times (probably 40 eggs) and only one chick has actually hatched! At least half of them were FULLY developed when I cracked them open at the end. I've tried multiple different humidity settings. The temp is at 37.5 Celsius, and I have extra hydrometer / thermometer in there. I'm about to give up.

    This can be the lack of oxygen. Incubator should have good ventilation to take in oxygen and throw out carbon dioxide. As embryo grows they need more oxygen to breath. Lack of oxygen will suffocate them before hatch. Bad ventilation is also cause of less hatching percent.

    The eggs are fertile but died half way or not hatch on the hatching day that mean the chicks are drowning. Too high humidity cause the chicks drowning and died. The humidity need to be 20%-35% during hatching process to keep the chicks not drown. You should try dry hatch without add water through the process to see what is going on.

  • @ChickenHues

    I’ve done dry hatching and had similar results, although I know lots of people do great with it. Now that I keep water in the pan I have better hatch rates. That can depend on where someone lived and the room the incubator is in, too. Thanks for the comment! Humidity is a huge factor!
