Why in the world have you taken them out of lockdown? You just removed all humidity. Good Lord!

And probably that one little guy that hatched didn't make it, humidity humidity!!! 😢 please do your research people, this is not a game 😢

Your going to kill the chickens if you keep taking the lid off. Your not suppose to take the lid off after lock down.

I don't know but it would be just like the chicken getting off the eggs and going to have a drink and something to eat or does the choc sit on the eggs for the last three days non stop

The hen can leave safely for an hour maybe even an hour and a half

The hens don't leave the eggs the last two days.

The light on top I believe is for candling the egg to check for baby chicks growing

You’re not supposed to open the incubator at hatching

the best thing you did was to leave the chick alone, you can watch the memnrane drying out as you just stand there recording , the reason for hunidity is to help them hatch and you let out both temp and humidity at the most crucial point. But your chickens your hatch, good luck

I'm shocked they didn't shrink wrap and die you never open the top after lockdown until all eggs have hatched.

When examining eggs never shake nor quickly flip them.

Sounds like she's new to hatching eggs, at this point. So many are quick to be a bit harsh in their responses. We all go through a learning process so being more of a helpful person responding would be much better use for us all. Try to be kind and helpful and not so judgie, judgy, judgey,?,lol Peace n light to all (especially newborns of all types)

Yeah def weren’t supposed to take the lid off on lockdown days 18-21. That’s when the egg inside can shrink wrap around them and end up killing them.

The light is for candling ya!.

Also the one that hatched has splayed feet…. That’s why it was struggling to stand and its legs didn’t look right.

The led light is for checking if there is life in the eggs

If there are any eggs you are unsure of it fine to leave them in the incubator for a little longer just in case , unless it is completely clear when you candle them.

You can actually shrink wrap them in their egg. The rule is no opening after putting them in lockdown

The membrane dries out from the big change in humidity and they get “shrink wrapped” inside of it and can’t get out of the shell

I don’t think you know what you are doing. The light is to see it the eggs are making babies. Lol

I had this same incubator and did not like it at all… the heat spread is really bad which results in bad hatch rates. I upgraded to an Borotto incubator and all problems were fixed.

You need to keep the styrofoam on the bottom and the top I have good result But i dont trust the temperature on the top I used 2 others thermometer on it and hygrometer. Dont put a lot of water...

@@brcath1616 I did… But the eggs on the side of the fan outlet just get cooked with hot air. And the inlet makes the air to cold. Borotto for example spreads the air way more evenly, which gives way better results. I haven’t had one bad hatch in the I’ve had it.

@@brcath1616 I guess you are one of the lucky ones.. Some people seem to have great results and some don’t. I’ve had 2 of these and both were bad.

when you showed the calendar can the quail eggs be followed up to that schedual?

Mine has a cotton wick that goes under the incubator and water is pulled into the tray

Did you add water only 3 times during the incubation period or did you add reinforcements from time to time?

Is the LED light for cancelling?

Sadly, those are china incubators and there are about 10 different names all for the same clone. I had one of the clones and had a hatch rate of exactly zero. They just can't hold in the heat. I sent it back and just spent the money on a Nurtureright 360 like I should have in the first place. My first hatch with mailed eggs in the 360 was 60%. I'm on track for a 91% hatch (11 of 12) since one quit before day 7. Also; lockdown means don't open the incubator. A pipped egg can shrinkwrap without warning and the chick could die.

Thanks for the feedback! The first time doing something is bound to have errors. It's always vulnerable to share the learning experience. I'm about to post a video to launch later this week which will show our current solution to insulating the incubator. Our second round of hatching produced four eggs - Eggs from our own flock, so I'm happy with that! I'm hoping for 5-6 hatches on our third batch.

Some feeds have grit added.I never use grit.

They should all hatch the same time.

How much water do I put

I only candle on day 10 and lock down day. I never candle blue, green and very dark brown eggs. Only keep the incubator open for maybe a minute so not to drop the temp too much. Make sure to put an additional thermometer in the incubator as I find these digital incubators are usually way off with the temps. We do a dry incubation and only add water day one and then fill water on lock down day. It works great for us.

Good tips!!! We covered the incubator the second time around to insulate the heat. Worked way better! Four chicks hatched

They roost on the top of that kind of feeder and they poop right into the feed.

After day 18 don't open or remove the lid. I keep saying close that lid.

My problem is all the light that comes from your hand holding that light. Use the candler on top of the incubator for Christ sake

You are not supposed to open the incubator when the chicks are hatching. They will shrink wrap.

Chickens don't pee and that's way too many wood chips.

You did all wrong! Why not read and looking video about it before? I have the same incubator and have goods results You need to put hygrometer and thermometer on the machine and keep the styrofoam on the buttom and the top to keep all stable. You have to keep your humidity around 35/40% personaly i dont have to add water on the 18 first day...depend of the humidity of your room. Please read about it Poor little thing!
