After the third door was added, stranger things started happening like things move or fly by itself than the priest was called back and it is said the third door was for spirit that other spirits may enter freely and it is best to close down the bunk and no one was allowed to enter the bunk again.

After the OC ask all the recruits to evacuate the Charlie company bunk, the beds and cabinets were taken away then left 1 bed and cabinet inside the empty bunk, then turn into a storeroom and fence up, lock with padlock, bicycle lock and chain lock to prevent any new recruits from coming in and out the signboard as no trespassing.

Because in 1983 the soldier was PTE Tham Wai Keong who died of stomach rupture and when he was promoted to NCO and got cremated, a few days later the bunk turn haunted and the bed was shaking, that is why the soldier soul was standing at the former cabinet. So the OC ask everyone to leave. This is why when over the past 30 to 40 years the soul was trapped inside and no one will dare ever use that Charlie company bunk again. It’s like the Changi hospital.

The story got muddled over the years. I had one neighbor who did NS on Tekong around the time the recruit died. Happened in the late 70s/early 80s apparently. He don't know how since he's not from the same group, but from what he told me there was no "stand-by organ", "organ in locker" or "sitting beside gravestone" like so many versions out there you find in SFOGS and TSGS, the recruit supposedly died from more natural causes (sickness + exposure and exhaustion) and police did go the island to investigate cause of death before the body was brought back to camp. My neighbor did say, however, that the haunting was real. He and his buddies have heard the deceased's bunkmates scream at night, also claimed to see shadows outside that particular bunk. As for third door, he say he can't remember.

*** PART 2 TO THE CHARLIE BOY STORY *** Thks @lychan2366 for his sharing below, thorough and detailed. Peace be with PTE Tham Wai Keong, in part died while serving SGP. I would like to add on what I had personally experienced: 1) Around 2011, at a friend's wedding, an older gentleman concurred his warrant officer was there and the incident was real. 2) In 1998 when I was serving NS BMT, I was in Echo company platoon 20. My bunk was located in Camp 1, "Chalet" style bunk (1 storey i.e), with a capacity of about 24 men. It was actually just next to the infamous Charlie Boy's bunk. It was by then named a Delta company bunk actually. My classmate actually slept in that exact bunk. As most would have known, all such bunks are long and with a door each at both ends. My classmate Gabriel had told me the warrant officers concurred this was the bunk in question. I went in once during R&R and my friend showed me the door, I remember it was approximately knee length in height, drawn onto the bunk's wooden side (wall). Immediately around it were sleeping beds btw. There were certain talismans around it. There were no ghostly events happening throughout his 3 months BMT btw. God Bless or so we thought. 3) In 2021, while drinking with a buddy (L WD), who was born in 1979, one year my junior i.e. He had told me, he was then serving as a BMT Sergeant (I believed 1999 approx). The whole BMT school had then been relocated to the new school, (tall buildings near the pier) and that camp 1 was totally decommissioned (I trust it's 1999 they decommissioned Camp 1). He witnessed the new haunting from his recruits, apparently some soldiers in the NEW LOCATION, Charlie company, same bed number (therefore Charlie Company Platoon 9, SxBx) shake, head seen in cabinet and recruits were terrified... Nobody could handle it. A lot of warrant officers were called in. They then suggested calling in the priests, and solved it as I heard. CHARLIE BOY SHIFTED WITH THE OLD CAMP, TOOK BACK HIS SAME BED IN THE NEW CAMP DESPITE HIS DEATH IN 1983 AND THE NEW CAMP OPERATED IN ABOUT 1999. WHY HAD HE STILL REMAINED IN TEKONG? GOD BLESS HIS SOUL AND I HOPE HIS FAMILY MEMBERS MAY INITIATE ANOTHER RITUAL TO PACIFY AND CALM HIM DOWN. A CLOSURE FOR HIM. And to the movie makers, as with some in this communique, "do put more effort to share the truth". BP 20230717 1831_44 Mon

l experienced very eerie paranormal activities when posted to the formal 42 SAR at Changi in the 80s. We heard rumours that it was haunted literally at every corner of the camp but rarely witnessed it ourselves probably because we were always moving in a large group. But quite a different story when you are alone. One time the entire camp was practically dark and empty because we were on a Battalion exercise, but l was running a high fever and was sent back. It was around 2am l vividly heard there were loud marching in the parade square, and someone walking along the corridor in those hobnail British boots (SAF had long abandoned those). The next morning l dashed to the cook-house and followed the truck back to the field. l have never felt so happy and relieved seeing my buddies.

If i remember correctly, for some funny reason, my platoon was moved to that bunk for 1 night and I slept in that bunk for 1 night. Also did guard-duty and the guy behind me got scared. Nothing happened in 1992 abouts... maybe tekong ghosts like to learn to "act-cute" too... if they return and you see them, ask them nicely, what had they learnt these few years from 1992 to 2022.. hopefully, they "act-cute" for you. There should be many ghosts and not just one
