I used an original hand powered model, made in Australia for several years. Eventually my father in law motorised it using a lawn mower engine. It was very effective. He's dead now, but he would have loved to see this video of a "modern upgraded model".

It is an old fashioned factory, safety is first & very important in the work area / foundry, nowadays the work of foundry is done with very modern techniques with full safety method.

Wonderful Workmanship there should have been a safety cover over V-Belt Drive this will be also providing Safety of Operator from Cutter Blades to avoid any horrible accident and a proper Outlet of the Cut Out material with in this cover so that there would be an even Collection of the Cut Material. its used to chop fodder for cattle, on a farm. it was popular till late 1800s in US and Europe till invention of fodder bale packers.

Seriously. Whatever this machine cuts is going to contain 1% metal shavings.

It gets me how a shop will have some cool machine like that big vertical turret lathe but then they are all still sitting on dirt floors, carrying loads on their heads up stairs and not even the most basic safety gear. Human lives really just don't merit any consideration there.
