Those tire track conversions eventually destroy the transmission/differentials on tandem drive setups. They also work REALLY well ! Thats why on muddy days you see them installed, but later, as traction /floatation improves they are taken off. they just beat the teeth on the gearsets and overheat blue the diff clutches. The tracks have NO give!! Its a hard expensive lesson young equipment operators learn, DONT use tracks on drive wheels unless you can afford a gearbox in 6 months.

Well Mike urr showing urr ignorance my friend. I'm a 4th generation logger. We DON'T clear cut, never have, never will. We selectively cut old growth timber. 20" at breast height. So that's a good 2 feet at stump at least. U can't have too many trees growing in a spot cause they will compete for sun, water and nutrients from soil. We plant twice as many trees as we remove, we don't just doze super highways through the woods, and we put all dirt, rocks etc back when we're done and seed and mulch so the grass will grow and hold more water and soil for the trees. Some company's do clear cut, tear every living thing down and destroy the woods. I've seen what other company's do and it's disturbing and it disgusts me very much. They give ppl and company's like my familys a bad rap. We use smaller machinery so we can get in between trees and not have to rip or tear all the small trees, bushes out. We leave the woods almost better than we found it. It's a very dangerous, hard job that's not for everyone. We're out there in the hottest days of summer, and the coldest days of winter, with heavy duty long sleeve shirts and pants and saw chaps, hauling around a sledge, steel wedges and a gas and oil jug. We don't use those kinds of forwarders or harvesters. We use a 650 JD dozer and a 640 JD skidder. We do it by hand. We have a hydraulic saw buck that cuts tree length to logs or if we're in small area we use chain saws. If a real delicate area we use Donkeys. That's the best option for not hurting the ground, or any life in the woods. So not all loggers go in and destroy the woods and leave a mess like a tornado came through.

@@samfed7976 Yes, but i don't know how to use it, plus i am at the end of my Internet, watching all the conmercials on u tube. I don't have reliable Internet or cell phone service where i live here in the countryside. I live 20 miles away from town and don't even have transportation. I order my groceries on-line and have them shipped to me. I used to have a Smart car, but i couldn't afford the payments any longer, or electricity...i had to get rid of my Internet as well, just so i can buy groceries every month. So i am at the bare minimums even with my phone service. Until i pay my bill on the tenth of the month my Internet and Phone services suck, and we have been having flooding here in Kentucky to where I couldn't even charge up my phone. Finally we have sun again and my phone is on my solar panel charging!
