My wife and I watch Fr. Michael every day. We also have Bible study every week. Our faithful Catholics need to read Scripture every day. I am 83 years old and my wife is 80 years old and we pray the Holy Rosary every day, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy because we believe in Jesus Christ and have a great desire to go to heaven and hopefully help others to go there also especially our family and extended family members. We pray for Ireland as well. God Bless! Amen!❤

One of the Churches I go to abridged 1st Cor so short, paraphrased the sins as synonyms, and nothing was said about it during the homile. I was wondering how my priests were going to approach it... And they ignored it completely. So sad.

It was Powerful and beautiful! I started listening to his homilies a little over a year and half ago, my sister shared them w me.. Many like myself are starving for the Truth of the Gospel! Our church only read a few sentences in Corinthians, was grateful today for all of it w Fr Mike.. God bless him & protect him .

Fr. Michael o Connor is one of my favourite priests and I always enjoy his homilies. We need an army of priests like him. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Was in Ballina at the weekend and went to mass in the cathedral.I was completely uplifted by the choir there at 11 o’clock Mass especially the soloist who sang.She was a young girl of about 15 or 16 years and after mass a lady in the congregation told me that she,the young girl actually is responsible for the choir and the music in the cathedral. This young girl is a credit to her generation and her parents,if only more young people could see what a contribution they could make to our worship and how much they could enrich their lives by participating

Love, Father O’Connor. Unfortunately, my pastor in Northern Virginia didn’t even mention the second reading in his lukewarm homily. A missed opportunity to preach the truth the faithful desperately needs to hear.

Thankyou for sharing decrevi. Another incredible sermon bringing the Light of God to our souls. Sermons like this used to leave me distressed because I'd not heard The Truth from the pulpit and I was torn and confused about where to draw the line when obeying and being subject to a straying abusive husband. So, these great homilies which truely direct most hearts, can leave other seeking hearts, in the dark. Pray! Pray for hearts still in the dark!! God bless you all.

Follow Fr. Mike O’Connor. He is a holy priest and has a wonderful story of his call to the priesthood. Try to find it online. In my parish in Florida, the homily was only about the first reading .

Fr. Mike gave the homily that all of us should have been able to hear today. We heard a much watered down version today.

Is remarkable indeed how some priests would read Corinthians 1 and totally ignored the warnings Saint Paul is giving to us, the warnings God is giving to us, which seriously need to be heard in this times of confusion and inmorality. We should never forget how our Lord punished the world for surrending to lust. God save us from the temptations of the world.

Great sermon.

I wish, pray for sermons like this. I moved parishes to hear better sermons like this. Then the pastor, whom I called John Vianney, died. That man spoke about the Eucharist 24/7. The current man, not so much. Even the reading itself has been “sanitised”. The sermon, also sanitised.

As expected, Corintians 1 was totally ignored. Priest concentrated on 'follow me' aspect, but 'forgot' that included all parts of us. Main apologetic lecturer in local uni too!

Simple truth, solid faith,exhortation to sin no more and Love our Father!

Pre-Vatican II missal has a reading usually an epistle of Saint Paul, and then the Gospel. Very rarely do you get a reading from the old testament on a Sunday. during the week you might have that, especially during Advent or ChristmasTide.

We go to the Latin Mass there sometimes. It’s a beautiful church.

The new liturgy is based upon the lutheran sunday service

If I have to criticize the 3 year cycle is that often readings offer shorter forms with brackets....most annoying as if Scripture is not relevant....or readings skip the hard parts of Christ's lessons as if not to offend anyone or they skip or leave out too much of the entire reading and thus Catholics only get a partial reading or partial understanding of the lesson.....otherwise, I like the 3 year cycle but you MUST read Scripture OUTSIDE OF MASS otherwise you are NOT doing your part to know Jesus or the Church. And one more thing on homilies...too many focused on the EUCHARIST as a MEAL rather than SACRIFICE....BUT that's not a Scripture problem but a priest homily issue. More homilies on the 4 LAST THINGS is required because HELL is REAL AND SIN HAS CONSEQUENCES. We need to hear this more.

A good priest no doubt, I don't think it's the scripture in the Novis Ordo that people think is protestant, For myself it's the downgrading of the Eucharist as well as lay people on the altar that is not respectful to the divine Lord Jesus Christ.God bless us all.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show yourself approved unto God. If we knew what was coming up in the Sunday missil we could read around it through the week to have a greater understanding, therefore be totally immersed in Holy Mass. Are we not yold everyone has access to a Bible and therell be no excuses on Judgement Day?

Yeah.... nah. Thank you, but no. I came to Christ through the TLM. The profound mystery of the ritual and the deep reverence evidenced in the rubric are an incomparable portal to heaven. All I perceive at the TLM is God. Most of what I see and hear at the Novus Ordo are men and women, and sometimes a little humanity. I'm sorry, but it is not enough and fear that it is more terrible than merely inadequate.

I was going to recommend another one he did last week and it is no longer on the site. I wonder why? It was amazing. More about immorality. It should be required watching for every Catholic. Don’t know what happened to the video????

Canon is still there, up to priests to use it

The problem with the new lectionary is that it abandons the centuries built readings that supported the liturgical year. Now it’s mostly just random readings with holy days moved to the Sundays.

No trad I've ever talked to or seen online said the new mass is protestantized because there is more Scripture. That's a giant straw man. The new mass is protestantized as demonstrated by various other factors. I don't think that's even doubted anymore.

Of course, what you are saying, the Bible is Catholic so I appreciate what you are saying. But the liturgy itself is what people are talking about when they say it is protestantized.

No. The liturgy is Catholic. Personally I prefer the traditional Latin Mass, but Christ is present fully and the same in the new Mass. Protestants didn’t give us the sacrifice of the Mass, but I understand the frustration given the abuses to the liturgy

My priest didn't mention St Pauls letter at all. But loads about the Samuel reading and the Gospel. I was surprised as he usually brings up the sinful nature of us all. He dose t hold back and he didn't today but nothing about fornication I was kind of looking forward to him smash us fornicators (I'm not now I'm.married but I certainly was in the past). He definitely talked passionately about the lamb etc.

I’d argue it’s NOT the lectionary, it’s the vast difference between the priest facing the laity, the tabernacle disappearing from the front and center, the dropping of the Latin and adding in music. Robert I think you’re intelligent enough to understand your gaslighting.

The way that the second reading skips over the sodomising verses really hurt me at Mass. And we did not have any talk about it in the sermon. Did the people who put the readings into the lectionary intentionally do that?
