This is very cool, thanks for showcasing. Haven't finished the vid yet but it reminds me of the kaiyodo museum exhibit over at Osaka castle that I got to check out about a week ago! I had a blast and took a ton of photos.

Thank you for bringing us into the 50th Anniversary Event at the Tamashii Nathon flagship shop. I also have subbed BANDAI Tamashii channel and saw an early preview, but yours enhanced the details more and through each display, plus the signage with English description on the history of SoC releases also helps. Last SoC purchased is Super Electromagnetic Robo COM-BATTLER V and that is the biggest SoC in the collection so far. Been debating on getting the Mazinger Z 50th Anniversary Ver. as AMIAMI is having a sale for it on their website.

I had one of the original Mazinger Chogokin figures when I was a child and wish I had taken better care of it. I'm super stoked for the anime colored Grendizer, as that is my favorite of the Go Nagai robots.

One thing about the Japanese stores is that they don’t seem to understand putting all the new stuff on display attracts people to the stores. They rehash so much stuff and display the same old stuff so often

Very nice video’ I live in Japan as well and picked up a ton of soul of chogokin for dirt cheap during the pandemic. I have 90% of the figures of the robots I loved as a child. With the tourists back my goodness they are triple the price even at mandrake. I have just started setting up my man cave display. I went to Tamashi nations to get an Idea on how to set my stuff up. Yea that GX-100 is incredible, My last item will be the Daiclone DX-100 then I am done collecting. These bring me back to my youth growing up between Japan and NYC.

@@KaijuDaddyJapan yes sir! I just got shelves a few days ago. I am going to get display cases, similar to what I saw At Tamashi nations, due to the earthquakes we get here. I live in Asagaya so I’m pretty much at Nakano broadlway every other day. Moving to Japan has been a wonderful blessing. I moved here not because of Anime and action figures, but the overall culture, food, people, order, serenity, peace of mind and affordable housing. My home town of NYC seems to be a mess now, also I don’t have 1.4 million for 400sqft (I’m not exaggerating that’s a Manhattan condo price in Harlem where I’m from). I flew in the Air Force for 30yrs hit every corner of the globe. Spain, Italy and Japan were my favorite missions to fly. Japan stood out amongst all the lands I traveled. I detect a New England accent within you, I enjoyed going up to cape cod for the summers with friends to beat the grind of NYC. I would have moved to that area if I stayed stateside. If you have not done a video on the subject, I would recommend the Animation museum in Ogikubo and the Inazama anime Cafe in Ogikubo as well, Take care and keep up the great work.

Wow that’s great. I appreciate the tips. Moving here has been one of the best decisions of my life. 17 years this September. I struggle with whether to move back to the States (yeah, I’m from Boston as you deduced) but like you said, the quality of life here is literally second to none in the world. My only issue is career and family. Raising a family (and collecting toys) is expensive. Much better pay in the USA. My wife is from northern Japan so we don’t have any family here to help us out or just spend time with. You often never realize how good you’ve got it until you don’t have it anymore.

@@KaijuDaddyJapan I absolutely understand your situation, we military retired Ex-pats give you straight civilians a lot of respect for moving here with no anchor. I have 3 bases I can go too for a touch of home and American products. I'll be honest, people such as you are so important to Japan, it would be a shame to see you leave. You have a lot to bring to the table for everyone here. You are also correct about your career and family, Boston is doing a lot better than NY. It might not be a bad change. I'll DM you, as I want to keep this thread about action figures and Japan. I have some suggestions on some subjects for your channel. I also have a large microman collection to set up as well (1972-2000 series). To be honest I gave away a large amount of my Poppy and microman collection when I joined the service in 1985, yea pretty stupid on my part.I thought I had outgrown them. But they are a part of the culture I grew up with I started to re-collect what I gave away in 1992. The pandemic was the new soul of Chogokin snatch up for me. The prices were so cheap and I enjoy them more than my old Poppy toys. Again keep up the great work I'm looking forward to more of your videos. I'll DM you some pics of my collection as well.

@@KaijuDaddyJapan Too many to count. The earliest would be the very first Mazinger Z release, plus the battery operated elevator pool base which elevate the Mazinger figure out of the pool. Also the original Mazinger vinyl head with dockable diecast Jet Pilder etc. Too many SoC pieces to count and they are all boxed up and stored away as well. If you count individual pieces (i.e. Gold Lightans limited release in the wooden case set), probably about the same like you or slight bit more in the collection.
