Incredible $10.8 Million Roberto Cavalli Super Yacht tour : 164ft Oceanfast 'Thunder'

Ойын-сауық

Quite simply the most astonishing super yacht I've ever had the pleasure of touring. This is superyacht as performance art. Rather than just building something with the most amount of rooms, the ethos of this superyacht was to build something that makes you go 'WOW' when you walk on board, and then does it again when the captain hits the throttles!

Goodness I agree. The decor looks like a turd floating in piss. Who picked these colors? Full of tiny cramped useless areas with nauseating irregular passageways and stairs everywhere. Like just buy a Palmer Johnson it'll do 28 knots all day long, and not at 2000 Liters per hour either! It'll do it looking a lot better too.

All the time i was watching the video i was wondering if the designer began by designing low end knocking-shops in the '70's. I would be ashamed to invite anyone onboard if I was "given" that boat. So many of these expensive boats seem to be designed with a lack of taste in mind, which is a pity.

Roberto , thanks for the TOUR ! ..... I was the build engineer for the first owner , just a couple of corrections , THUNDER achieved 42.9 Knots on sea trails [ not sure where the other 9 knots went.... ] Her fuel consumption more in the order of 2300 litres per hour at WOT 50% load. I would think if Jon Bannenberg could see the interior today , he would do back flips in his coffin .However , a very challenging build and meet all the owners objectives [ except for his fuel bill at the end of the first season ] I agree with you, incredible attention to detail , taste and style is a personal given right .

Creaking floors or walking / standing on steel hard surfaces all day? The creaking comes from allowing a bit of flex to make the flooring softer on your feet. That bit or artwork "brainwashing" wouldn't survive my first encounter with it partially asleep. All those different patterns on the walls would have me looking for a paint brush and bucket of paint. Oh, that's flat black bottom paint? Oh-well, at least the walls aren't an eyesore now.

Now the enginesis are something I would not mind having on my boat. I have a 30 meter boat and the only way that is getting up to over 30 knots is if it's being towed by a boat doing 30 knots. @@TheNefastor I watch a lot of these boat tours and this is the first time I've felt that. I'm pretty sure it was just the decor for me. Something about the bulging lines of some of the walls maybe along with the colour scheme. The state room with the huge headroom shown didn't give me the same feeling. The colours are a little more muted in there with some straight edges in sight.

I love how the boat keeps upping the ante. The Roberto Cavalli interior and silver and gold fleck paint were impressive but the real show stealer for me was that powerplant. I was wondering how a 164 foot boat could do 34 knots, did not expect the answer to be two 3000 HP engines and a gas turbine.

Lot's of people complaining about the extravagant interior. I'd say it's also not my taste, but on the other hand, if I had the money to buy stuff like this, I could see myself getting a bit extravagant in my interior design ideas. All of the yachts in this price range have expensive, high quality interior, but it's essentially the same for all of them, and having something so unique to myself can have a certain appeal, too. I would color my yacht in bright orange and other people would probably consider it an attack on the senses, but it would be special and mine alone. Thanks for the tour, Nick, the interior was really quite an adventure. 😉
