I think its much easier to make gil than mid 2000s. When in doubt... MOAT CARP. Mithra rod and worms until lv3-5? Then use insect paste. By the time you hit 11 + 2 fishing you will be pulling up mad carps. Even on the way to 11 you will make ton of GIL. I fish with controller while im watching something or even raiding in WoW. Its relaxing. Sometimes its more profitable than tele taxing... Carp will be forever valuable since a quest needs 10k of them to make Lu Shangs fishing rod. Stack was 1800 last month, now they're 2300 steady. Can price them higher when they get temporary bought out too if you dont need insta dough.

Early levels the best way I found over the years is fishing or farming for fire crystals.

What I want to know is how did you get all that gil
