@@ronak5929 yeah you are right..but what I was trying to say that depreciation is a non-cash item of operating expense..and for calculation purpose it needs to be excluded from normal cash items of operating expense..

Hello sir I am doing this ratio analysis so I found the questions when were the profit and loss account given and in this profit and loss account there is a interest is given only interest in debit side and in the solution part is there was that the operating expenses when their calculating the operating expenses cost of goods sold plus selling expenses and administration expenses plus interest is correct if it is correct then know what is the explanation for the interest. Could you please help me

Hey it's because voh bhi toh business ke income aur expenses pe affect kr rha hai, i mean if business is selling assets so the profit or loss is income or expense respectively, that is not related to operating income or expense(i.e managerial, business expenses) therfore it is non-operating income or expense(i.e income or expenses because of non managerial expenses or income)
