Nice Infomative video! And, I want to let you know your videos in general are concise and easy to understand. I have some video suggestions for you. 1) Driving at night, the lights that are supposed to be on, etc. 2) Also, how to brake efficiently and smoothly without pressing the pedal hard because my breaks are usually strong? How do I know when to break and not break at the last minute? I think these will be useful to know.

If this assumes you are using your own car, remember that you must have a car that is NOT more than 6-years old. If you buy a Toyota Corolla Hybrid, consider depreciation of about $17000.00 over those years. You must have very rigid maintenance and a safety inspection every year. $2000.00 or so to install the passenger side brake pedal. Minimum 2-million liability insurance, 6-million is preferred. You will be putting approximately 250km on your car each day, so factor in a tank of gas every second day of work, or approximately another $150 to $200 per week. $25 per hour would be a fair wage if the school provides the car for you and covers fuel and insurance etc, and if they cover the cost of BDIC and BCIC.

Your going on wrong info, most schools only do about 15KM/Student, with most schools only doing 8 students per day, so that’s only 120KM/day. But of course, this is average. On the first three lessons or so, we do less then 15, but then on the last we could do up to 30.

This is something I'm considering, but.. Insurance is about $540 a month, God only knows how much you would spend on gas in a month and what about tax deductions on your income? Also, if I'm working a ten hour day, where do I find the time to rent out your vehicle for a driving test?

In the 10 hours a day does that include the time between driving from one student’s house to another? How do you account for that? The 10 hours of work you show implied around 18 hours if you include the time lost travelling from one house to another. Also you are assuming some people will be ok with night lessons or very early morning lessons.

Not really the facts of being a driving instructor. It is a good job for many, but not a get rich plan for most. If you are willing to invest 200 hours a month and disregard the lost time between pickup and drop off, then you will make a good living, but that is true of many careers if you give it your all. Most of our instructors prefer to work part time as full time in car does create mental strain. Instructors have to be on high alertness at all times and that does cause mental fatigue. Personally, I would compare 5 hours of instructing as to being about the same as 10 hours of driving on your own. As for the numbers, the expenses are steep. Vehicle cost, fuel, maintenance, depreciation, all add up. The cost of any service is largely determined by the costs to provide the service. Once you start digging into the actual expenses and time not paid it becomes clearer. It is a good career option, but not an easy road to wealth. ( As I’ve discovered over the past 19 years.) Is it a good part time job? As I work full time and am looking to make extra $ on weekends!

I got charged 50$ an hour in 2014. I'm sure some instructors charge 70$ an hour. Feels like rip off. There should be some regulations on how much they charge. Some instructors also make you take extra classes. There is no real way to know if a instructor is good. Hardest part in being instructor is work is very repetitive, skills are not transferrable, sitting all day, boring conversations. Good is watching someone happy and succeed because of you, responsibility in making roads safer, passion for teaching.

Have you tried being an instructor? The hardest part is not sitting down and watching, it’s actually teaching a new skill to students that are new. Before you talk it down, try it for yourself

To become a driving instructor is not easy as you have to have a clean sheet on driving, clean criminal record then you have to finish 2 exams and school in a year in Ontario.

Why you didn't tell anything about the danger? Huge stress? And fixing the damages that were caused by students?

$50 is cheap. Consider that he has to make money, let’s say he pays himself $25/hour. His insurance,gas, maintenance, any other services he uses. He’s probably not even paying himself $20/hour at that rate. Be grateful he undervalued himself. Most schools starts at $80/hour

@@ryannelson6865 $50 is very cheap. Try to open a driving school yourself and see how much you’ll be making if you charge $50/hour. If you cannot afford $50/hour, then don’t go to driving school. In the end you’ll be paying more in insurance, so that’s totally up to you.

This video is very deceiving. Be aware: 1. Training is actually hard to pass. 2. Usually, requirements of 10+ years of driving experience. 3. Your not getting paid for 10 hours a day, and only drive 10 hours. - If your lucky like me: - I make 1.5 hours off of every 1 hour of drives. $20/hour, so for every 1 hour of in car with student, I make $30 But, if you were to do 8 student hours, I get paid for 12 hours of driving. But that means I’m at less driving around the city for 12 hours every day, Monday-Friday, but this does not include my lunch, or my breaks, which is another hour. There’s a lot of good money to be made, but it’s actually hard work, and this video doesn’t give it justice.

What he says is not true. In the winter time you will not have sufficient income. Plus you can work only 6 to 7 hours a day. Rest goes on pickbup drop off.

I think this career will be very challenging for women! Unfortunately society won’t trust a female instructor over male!
