That is the USMC ILBE Main Pack, my Long Range Bug Out Bag is also the ILBE, I also have the ILBE Assault Pack set up as a Get Home Bag. I have hiked for days with 80lbs in the ILBE comfortably, but my actual loadout is more like 60lbs. You definitely have the right pack to haul some weight. I also have the entire Modular Sleep System, but leave either the black cold weather bag or the green Patrol Bag, depending on the time of year. You have some really good choices in your loadout.

So many questions; so little time. Watching so many videos like this makes me picture the SHTF future: The cites will be empty, but the woods are going to be so full of people who have bugged out of the city, they will be tripping over one another. Here's a question: If you're Never Coming Home, where are you going? Do you have an ultimate destination, or just plan to roam the post-apocalyptic earth like Mad Max? Why are you Never Coming Home to start with? If its that bad, maybe just move now and avoid the rush on Doomsday. Then, you can just bug-in at your new place when SHTF.

Good video my friend..can you do a bare minimalist loadout with only one item per category? e.g. hygeine. bar of soap..weapon. pistol..cooking. folding stove.

Agree. You’ll get used to the weight as you have to carry it.

Have you ever tried to ruck 80 lbs for an extended amount of time? You may "get used to it" to some extent, but you also get more worn out and exhausted each day, especially under stressful conditions like SHTF. And because the heavy weight burns more calories, you have to eat more for the energy and drink more for the sweat loss. Given the stress of the supposed SHTF scenario, and the possible need to RUN and react to aggression on occasion; a huge, heavy bag becomes more of a liability and a target for desperate looters. I just think there is a better solution out there. Having actually humped this sort of weight in a combat zone, this is a no-go for me.

@@vohawkThere'll be lots of free gear laying about from guys with 80-100 lb packs. These guys will find out real quick. Try to fight while carrying all this crap.

Yes. I understand that building these kits is lots of fun, but if SHTF actually happens, I expect to spend a lot of my time looting the dead of all their Gucci gear. What armchair commandos don't understand is that soldiers may ruck in this sort of weight to a base camp or carry it in a combat vehicle to the AO, but then downgrade to the smaller assault pack to actually carry out missions because they can't fight effectively carrying all that weight. Alone, or in a small group, a civilian better adopt a similar mindset if he has any chance of surviving SHTF. Maybe decide your destination ahead of time and cache supplies along your route. It would be a safer alternative. @@Biomass1
