Told by First Nations people, this documentary puts the justice system on trial.

Heart breaking. Injustice, mass murder, slave labour. A brilliant documentary. These are our children!! This is happening NOW in Australia and I am deeply ashamed.

READ "The Fatal Shore - the epic of Australia's founding", by Robert Hughes, 1986. Should be mandatory reading in schools around the world.

Aborigines are actually under-represented in jails. If you look at the crime rate, then all other things being equal, you would expect more Aboriginals in jail. Unfortunately there is a lot of racism which means that Aboriginals get better treatment are are more likely to get off than a non-indigenous person. Let me give an example. I was working in a hospital when some wallets and purses went missing from the staff room. It was found that some of the Aboriginal children had been in the staff room and taken them. Instead of calling the police, the hospital called the Aboriginal liason officer. No action was taken against those responsible and nothing was ever reported to police. Also, the childrens ward at the hospital was used as a dumping ground by aboriginal mothers who wanted a break from looking after their children. The mothers would just come into the ward, open the door, put their children inside and close the door. The children were not sick at all. The mothers would then have a holiday from their children. They would come back and get them in 2 days or 2 weeks. The hospital would feed them in the mean time. Nothing was ever reported to police. Imagine if a white person just dumped their children at the hospital for a few weeks.

@@bpw8139 I hope your not still working in a hospital, your spouting racist stereotypical bullsh*t that is typical of this country. Nearly all children in NT juvenile prison are First Nations and across all age groups make up a disproportionate amount across the country, get your facts right before writing such ignorant crap on a one of the most important documentaries to be made. I bet you haven't even seen it too!
