So the sculpt went from best ever to a 9.5/10. Nothing to be disappointed about imo. Looks great.

Yeah, HD cameras pick up on imperfections that are usually missed by looking at the figure with the naked eye. And once the figure is on the shelf for a while, I find I tend to forget about those initial nitpicks.

I think the sculpt looks great! Also, as someone who also collects 1/6 military figures, I have to laugh (and cry) at the comment about the belt should be on the figure from the factory.

Going by this video, it looks like something has been altered from the prototype, perhaps it's his nose. It looks a little on the large side, from the front and in profile, making him now look like a cross between Viggo and Wladimir Klitschko. As with the Inart Batman figure, it looks like the head is too small. I look forward to seeing more footage, getting it in hand, circa 2025 I expect, when I can make a firm judgement.

I just said the exact same thing! Something about his face is throwing me off…! Maybe the nose… the forehead? I can’t put my finger on it. Once I can get a clear shot of his head sculpt I want to do some side by side with photos of Viggo just because it’ll bother me if I don’t haha.

​@@Gosling_dkcYes, I hope we're proven wrong. It just doesn't make sense to change the sculpt when it was universally well received. The paint apps look great so it's not that. My guess is that something: the lighting, viewing angle, and most likely, imo, the positioning of the head - chin tilted higher up instead of being tucked in closer to the neck - that's the culprit.

Bro I don't see a downgrade in the sculpt. This looks amazing. I can't wait to have him next to Gandalf

I see a downgrade. Study the prototype and look at the hairline and the stubble. The expression isn't the same either.. likely just the paint apps tho. Idk. Looks less impressive tho

Good to hear your perspective on the unboxing video, Will. I think the figure still looks great and I'm sure in hand it will be better, I hope Inart runs with your idea to release the Standard version asap, just to start getting these out quickly. I've got a first batch order from "they who shall not be named", so we'll see if they come through (Joker and Gandalf arrived in a timely manner). If not I've got a back up with Kit, but I won't expect that for a few months.

It's a GRAIL! A slight downgrade from 1 to 1 perfection is still near-perfection. Needing to assemble it ourselves is stupid.

Im a little worried about the eyes, because it is an exhibition figure, I noticed that one of the eyes is not aligned with the other, that could be an issue when it comes to a single control to move them

This is why I’ve kept to the Asmus figures. Quantity over quality. I have all the characters I could possibly want and didn’t pay $500 for just one of them. While the InArt figures are great and I’m certainly glad they exist, it really helps propel the hobby forward, I made the right choice sticking to my Asmus collection. Gandalf turned out great, but this Aragorn definitely leaves a lot to be desired. And I didn’t even pre-order this.

This looks fantastic. I'm shocked how good the Sculpted Hair looks too. I think the neck system for the Rooted Sculpted is so much better than having to install the entire neck like on the Joker. I agree with you that InArt needs to find a way to have figures arrive as close to fully assembled as possible

I don't think they can have the belt installed ahead of time on a figure line this. The sword sheeth would get in the way too much. Even Asmus LotR figures all came with their belts off the figures for this same reason Now the Batman, that absolutely could have come all assembled.

I think figure looks really good. I think with more natural lighting the sculpt could look even better. My gripe is that InArt spends time and money to set up this video. They could have pulled off a better standing pose. Really some subtle tweaks and it would really sell the realism.

As someone with zero bias because I’m not getting this, I think the head sculpt looks great. Maybeee 9/10, but still like an A-. Agreed on belts, insane! Not like we get anything out of going through the process 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

For some reason I keep seeing the Asmus version of Aragorn when I watched your video. Both head sculpts to me have downgraded. It's still an amazing figure, just not worth what they are asking for.

Your right with the headsculpt. I know many say people who say things on headsculpts are panicking or is gas lighting but I’m a customer of this figure, deposit paid etc and I clicked on this video in excitement and was left with an “oh, that looks a little odd” feeling because the headsculpt is not as good as the promo was. I ordered man of steel also but I will not be ordering anymore now seeing this and will wait until I can have it in hand to see if inart have indeed let me down and I feel duped into their product. My own fault after seeing how bad their joker ended up….

That headsculpt is fantastic, I don't see much of a drop off at all honestly.

It looks good. I do see a downgrade from the proto but inart release content is trash. Wait for people to get this in hand in 2025 and judge it then. Unfortunately I take first reviews on inart with a grain of salt. Not that I don't trust the opinions, it's impossible to not have bias for fear that inart or x retailer will stop the early review stock

I got an improbably good deal on the sculpted version, so I'm pretty much going to be happy with the figure no matter what, but that head sculpt is looking kind of disproportioned compared to the prototype. Like it's fine, but this is looking like a Mace Windu calibre head sculpt. I thought the Pattinson Batman head sculpt looked disproportioned too in pictures, but I've never had that one in hand.

It looks good, excited to get it eventually. Disregarding the influencer batch, like Batman, I don't consider this actually released until collectors get them in hand.

This is a good question. I would say this is inevitable with most figures you buy that aren't a custom. We've been lucky InArt has delivering proto quality for the other figures so far. This one is still 95% I'd argue, so I think most will be happy, and those who panic cancel may end up regretting it.

Released? Like Batman is released? That no one has. 😉 Clickity bate. Figure looks great … but you cant call this a release.

Precisely. It seems that, as with many other words these days, "released" has been redefined, watered-down to present a different reality. Until recently"Released" has always meant something that is now readily available to purchase or watch at the cinema, and in the case of collectibles, that the vast majority of pre-orders will imminently be in the hands of customers; not just a micro percentage of "influencers". Nowadays "released" has been co-opted by crooked or incompetent businesses, and their apologists, to cover their backsides. Thankfully good sense is prevailing and people are not buying this bs.

Idk, I don't see a downgrade. Short of InART releasing a 4K UHD video with macro lens closeups of the headsculpt; people truly can't tell with a compressed 1080p video on YT and social media. I am confident the quality is there and collectors will be very pleased once these hit people's hands.

It is a slight decline but still looks great ps wish they’d put belt on as have Parkinson’s so find finicky things a bit awkward

I feel like we collector's have this almost unstoppable desire, to "peek behind the curtain" and find something wrong with the past few InArt figures despite the fact that they've all more or less followed the same pattern, which is the prototype looks great, and then the figure looks great too, with the standard very slight downgrade that 1/6 collectors should expect from mass production. We've spent years seeing Hot Toys do the same thing. The fact that these figures look as good as they do is certainly a positive, not a negative. It feels like at this point, it would be impossible for a figure to come out where people say that it looks good but lets wait until it's in hand. I don't see any way that collectors don't keep falling into this trap lol

Sadly, I think some consumers can have unrealistic expectations for what a $500 1:6 scale figure will bring. I remember buying artisan figures from an old brand called Black 13 Park. As great as they are, I could still find issues. No matter the price you pay, there’s always going to be a slight level of disappointment or more, depending on your expectation. Prototypes are hopes of what to achieve. Sometimes, they get close (or even exceed) but there’s always going to be some difference with the final product. Also, seeing how difficult it is to mass produce an art piece like this should hopefully make more fans allot more grace to these makers. At the end of the day, they are producing pieces we love that most companies are not doing to this degree of quality.

Perhaps some collectors just have a higher standard of what a $500 doll should be than you. Don't measure others higher appreciation for money based on your clearly low one.

I can’t argue about something as subjective as a personal expectation vs what’s actually possible with 1:6 scale figures that are massed produced. Outside of this point and my personal experience, the reality is that $500 to $1000 is a lot of money and preordering premium figures is a gamble. If someone’s world would be rattled over a figure not being 100% like the prototype, then I advise them to not order it. This advice is true with anything in life. If the money you are putting forth could lead to you being upset about something you were suppose to enjoy, don’t spend it if you can avoid it.

It comes down to as long as the producer keeps showing a product that isn't achievable on a large scale, they should be held accountable, rather than normalizing disappointment. It happens over and over and people like you continue to tell collectors it's fine. It's not. That's how I know your level of standards isn't high. It's either what was shown when they solicited preorders and took our money or it's grounds for a total refund.

That’s why they call their solicitation images “Prototypes.” This is what they are hoping to achieve. Businesses are not in control of your dreams or expectations of what you think the final product will be. I would argue that most figures do not come out greatly different than the proposed prototype, not enough to request a full refund. If this a fear of yours or any collector, fight the FOMO and wait until the figure releases. No one is responsible for your purchasing habits outside of you. I feel like we are kindof debating two different issues and we have met an impasse. Regardless, good luck with your collecting journey and buy what you love.

I gotta disagree , Gandalf looks like a CGI which is why I didn’t like it , this Aragorn looks a million times better . Ofc can only be sure once I see it in hand . But while their Gandalf had a pretty good competition by the upgraded Asmus one , their Aragorn has no competition , Asmus is nowhere near with their Aragorn this time , which is why I never bought theirs .

Lol. You clearly have not seen Inarts Gandalf in hand. The only reason why Gandalf can look like a CGI render is when the photographer uses overly bright lighting which makes him look shiny. Gandalf looks exceptional under natural lighting. If anything this footage makes Aragorn look like a CGI character, with the lack of definition on the beard, swollen looking features & the deepfake eyes similarity with season 2's Luke in the mandorlorian.

@@bagg10101 there is a Chinese review of Aragorn out . The reviewer puts Aragorn and InArt Gandalf under the same light next to one another . Aragorn looks real , Gandalf looks like a slightly drunk CGI of Gandalf . And no , even on professional photos Gandalf looks extremely like CGI and the hair quite inaccurate .

Something's throwing it off. Everyone was talking about this being the best 1/6 headsculpt ever. Looks like the final product's a noticeable step down.

I didn't pull up the prototype but I remember thinking it was a 10/10. This is still a 10/10 to me even if it's a slight downgrade. This community has to have some of the most dramatic people in the world. Regardless who is to blame for these early leaked photos, it's exhausting seeing the hysteria every time it happens only to see the official release be great and everyone is like, "oh, I guess I kinda overreacted lol".

The people who see the sculpt as a downgrade are actually trolling. The sculpt is the exact same, if you compare with the original prototype. Hair isn’t thick, and the warmer tones in the video even make this sculpt look better around the eyes. 10/10 for me. However I will probably see this 2025 since I didn’t order early.. now WHERES BATMAN😂

I think a bunch of you guys need to get together and see if maybe John or someone from one of these companies (ain't gonna be HT haha) can actually take you through the process. Obviously without complete specificity. But for instance just knowing that say prototype headsculpts being in say resin as opposed to plastic finals and stuff like that will increase actual understanding not just hyperbole about what may or may not be happening because none of you know. How tampography printing works and all that stuff too. Back to headsculpts people act like a whole new sculpt was done (when usually that doesn't make sense ) when it comes out rather than a slight softening due to as I say the materials and how thermal stuff can affect the shape of plastics especially at 1/6, final as opposed to prototype/custom paintjobs and such. Maybe if we all understood what the steps were there wouldn't be such hyperbole and fearmongering like ooh is it a disappointment which is totally leading, and so on. When it may just be like in the above that the lighting is nowhere near as good as the previous pics. We all love this stuff but trying to pass judgement with such little understanding of what is actually going on puts it all down to kneejerk reactionism. We all get overexcited enough as it is!! I.M.O.!

Personally i dont see a downgrade. Overall package looks crazy good. Just the wait is the only issue.
