    i can't wait to see how you handle the other commanders in this deck. i run Mairsil the Pretender and he is one of my all time favorite commanders from the moment i started playing with him. I have won so many games because of his ability to out of no where lock down the board and stall out until you just win.

    I managed to get my hands on all four C17 decks at wholesale pre-ordered just to teach people MTG. The Inalla deck I no longer let newbies pick because it's just extremely cerebral. I think I'm now ready to take her apart, thanks for the great tips!

    It's really three decks but I don't think that's a horrible thing. WOTC regularly includes a main strategy and a side strategy in these precons. I like the room for tinkering that gives us. This one does seem particularly difficult for a new player though. Way to be! Teaching newbies commander! Good on you.

Buy yourself another draft at your LGS, bring drinks to your next commander night, etc.) Comments, tweets, shares, likes, and yes, patreon money all help this grow in different ways. Different people will contribute in different ways and I appreciate you all. So thanks Nicholas! I'm glad you're wrecking with Zada.

    Similar to the earlier example with Disciple of Bolas, you can have Venser ability resolve first to bounce himself, then let the token come into play to bounce your intended target. Essentially 3UU: return target spell or permanent to its owner's hand. Sort of like capsize with buyback but 1 less generic.

    There is another Combo with Ashnod´s Altar and Bloodline Necromancer: With Ashnod´s Altar in play: Cast the Necromancer and copy it with Inalla, then sacrifice the original to the Altar and bring it back with the Reanimation-Trigger of the copy. Rinse-Repeat-Victory.

  • @JumboCommander

    Even with an Altar of Dementia or a Spawning Pit. Due to the absurd amount of reanimation even in the pre-con there are so many triggers to abuse again and again. Never waste the potential of your disposable minions.

    Paradox Engine works great in this deck. Since comet storm comes with it, I was able to copy that spell with Swarm Intelligence, generate 10+ floating mana using paradox engine tricks and Kess, and then knock out two opponents in 1 turn. Wizards pre-con is a giant sleeper, especially when all of your friends bought dragons and vampires.

  • @MasterQuestMaster

    A neat combo with Venser is: Venser enters the battlefield, his trigger targets another spell or permanent. Inalla puts a token copy of him onto the battlefield, his trigger goes on the stack, targeting the non-token Venser. Legends rule kicks in, you sacrifice the token Venser. Token Vensers trigger resolves, bouncing your non-token Venser, then non-token Venser's trigger resolves, bouncing the spell or permanent. You basically have a cheaper repeatable Capsize that can also returns spells. Edit: I see you already know about this combo from the comments. But it would have been a great thing to mention in the video. Possibly along with the Animate Dead combo.

    I dig this commander. Just unveiled mine at my last nerd nite. Had no intention at winning. Control and card draw ftw. Nin the Pain Artist is a card drawing beast. Recursion and Removal. Out of 4 opponents I killed 3 :) and royaly screwed the 4th. Got a finisher out of Vendictive Lich and hosed the Eldrazi player with Clone Legion + Polymorphist's Jest. He thought he had me at least 5 times.

    Currently Naban and Panharmonicon are a mudst for this deck. You could also add Naru Meha. Sundial of the infinte is amazingly strong in this deck and Rite of Replication with Master of Waves can make for a very cool beatdown. I personally dont like combo so i look for other wincons. If you are drawing tons The Locust god can be a nice adition and using the Xenograft like card from Ixn or Artificial evolution can help assemble a Wizard Token Flying Haste Army. Dont forget Athermage for the wizard tutor and maybe sidisi?

    Have you considered doing a deck tech on Kess? I see dozens of guides for a storm deck with her (and anyone would be remiss NOT to run Mizzix's Mastery in her deck) but I have yet to see a well made guide for her to be an instants/ sorceries good stuff deck. I have also considered running her as a graveyard commander combined with several wheels.

    There is an other combo between bloodline necromancer and ashnods altar you have not mentiond. Etb, token, sacc the original. Get the oroginal with the etb from the token = infinity colorless mana and infinity hast 3/2 with lifelink.

    Some of the precon commanders have been pretty ridiculous, but I think that the most ridiculous ones are the ones that work while they're in the command zone since they basically double as an emblem that can be cast as a creature, also once the tax gets to be too much, just don't cast 'em anymore since if the deck is built right, that eminence bonus is good enough without the commander being on the bf

  • @harbear6276

    @harbear6276

    Hey nothing wrong with what you said but to explain Sundial's interaction with the tokens is you have to wait until the next end step before you use the Sundial as simply ending your turn before the sacrifice at end step is put onto the stack (at the end step) will simply make it that they go away at the next player's end step instead of yours.

  • @ChillyJack

    Last week, I combined the Inalla Wizard Tribal deck with Yidris. The only non-wizard creature is Rashmi, and then I included Sunbird's invocation. Imagine that field and then playing Etherium-Horned Sorcerer. I won on the deck's first testing. It was amazingly ridiculous. I need to change a couple of things, but I can't wait to test it again.

    It's worth it to add in the potential Yidris cascade triggers and the mana ramp from green, and being able to add Rashmi to the pile. Best case scenario (like above), I get to play 4 free spells for every card cast from hand! However, USUALLY, I should expect 1 free spell from one of the myriad sources as the game begins to ramp up. I think it will be hit or miss for awhile, but that first game was perfect!

    Technically what you'd want is to have Venser-1 bounce himself, and the token hits the field after that ability has resolved, thus letting you keep it around to sacrifice or attack with haste. What I'm slightly disappointed about with this video is that there was no emphasis placed on the non-creatures that can abuse ETB effects or cards that let you blink your creatures to re-trigger the ETB effects. I guess that is more up to player choice though.

    Did you just tell me that Venser is bad in Inalla? You can Venser for every 2UU that you have untapped until your next turn. • @JumboCommander

    @JumboCommander

    6 жыл бұрын

    For sure. I spent to most money on an expensive mana base. There are only a few cards that are really blowing the budget (snapcaster, vendillion clique, mistbind clique, kid jace, glen elendra) These are awesome but you don't need them at all. There are other solid wizards that can easily replace them. You can also look for more budget friendly spells (like running spell swindle instead of that mana drain I included). I hope that helps. Also check out my budget win conditions video to see how those can compliment a wizards control package. Good luck!

    4:15 and 7:15 Doesn't work if one will die... Both the copy and the original both have to live for their respective abilities to resolve... Killing one of your creatures means only one of the abilities will resolve, not both.

    I was wondering about that too. Would the ETB vanish from the stack when it dies? I don't think it does...but I would like confirmation.

    Triggers resolve independently of their source (once they have been triggered killing the source doesn't stop the trigger). This interaction works because Disciple doesn't target. If it did, then it wouldn't work because you would have to declare its target when it's going to the stack and at that point there's no copy to sacrifice. Since it doesn't target, when each goes to resolve you have a Disciple to sacrifice for each and as I said killing the first one doesn't make its trigger disappear

    Yep, Here is a good explanation with rules annotations: boardgames.stackexchange.com/questions/7893/does-an-ability-resolve-if-the-source-of-the-ability-leaves-the-battlefield

    Disciple is targeting a creature as you're choosing a creature. Killing the first one makes its trigger disappear.

    If it isn't your style cards like grave betrayal or even the scarab god can be game winning cards. Make sure you have enough win conditions so you don't just durdle with wizard value all game and never win.

    Jumbo Commander Plenty of one card win cons available, Vicious Shadows being a particularly effective one. The reason I heavily dislike infinites is because it's like bringing an assault rifle to a martial arts tournament. Sure, you may have won (even very quickly), but your victory means very little/ has no value.

    whateverman187 you're entirely wrong if you think winning by combo has no merit or value

    Shea Jones Triggered huh...well, you're gonna have to do better than that. Enlighten me. Under what circumstances does an infinite combo win have value, according to you? I was talking specifically about infinite combos. The way I see it: you get your combo pieces, through draw...or more often than not...through tutoring. You play them and go nuts, which oftentimes just insta-wins you the game. If winning (by whatever means) is how you derive enjoyment out of Commander, there is your value. If, however, you value player interaction...(through back-and-forths), ingenuity (through observation & decision making) and inspiration (through unpredictable gameplay), well...you're gonna find very little of that in a game of "I got all my combo pieces, now I go infinite so I win".

    whateverman187 interaction is how you stop infinite combos. Counter spells, artifact destruction, and other types of destruction just make the combo useless and usually leaves that player dead in the water
