Ahead of the release of their much anticipated new album Outer Edges, we visited Noisia in their impressive studio complex in Groningen. In this video Martijn van Sonderen breaks how the band created the bass sound on Reptilians, their collaboration with Mefjus & Hybris.

    How to draw an owl: Step 1. Draw two circles. Step 2. Draw the rest of the fuckin owl. They literally went from "this is how you make a lame bass sound in FM8" to "this is how it will sound if you knew what to do with it". What happens in between is what people are actually interested in.

    I love how Noisia tutorials tell you next to nothing. It's like 'yeah, we fuck with some stuff, and then distort it, and then, we fuck with it some more' haha. It's probably too complex to do an in depth tutorial!

    It's because they genuinely don't know. Their ability comes from hours of practice and honed instinct, not conscious knowledge. that should be the biggest takeaway here. Practice > Theory

    And yet somehow they still manage to teach. I just used his whole fm a sub oscillator trick on Xfer Serum and I made a preset that sounds VERY similar to something that they'd make. But of course I tweaked it to my liking and now it sounds like something that Id make.

Ik heb eerdere eravringen met synth's ( 1986 dx7-2007ísh).Ervaring met digitaal en analoog ( mono/poly). Het is een start zeg maar ;). Ik heb een budget van 800 euro.     Anyone knows what version of Cubase is this and if there is any crack? Last one I tried was 3 SX, the rest didn't have a crack yet. Im trying to move from FLstudio but can't find a good replacement, the other DAW arent as intuitive.

    +Bollog Nyessy did you even noticed that he'd lean forward couple of times just to see things on screen? using LED TV for display monitor will be hard to see text on GUI specially on 1080 res. you'll need smaller res like 1300 or 1680 to read things properly on a 1080 HDTV at certain distance. But may impact your workspace.

    no, i didn't see him leaning forward. 1300 or 1860? why would you run a 1080 display at a resolution higher than it can handle...that doesn't make any sense. anyway, i don't think you have any right to start pointing out problems in people's setups. your music sound very amateur and you're uploading your tracks in a way that is trying to fool people into thinking they're official versions.

    not sure yet, but it seems to be "iZotope Insight". You can mess with its settings and make some neat, fullscreen, 2D spectogram with whatever color palette u want

    Isaac Gecas wouldn't have fit on the album. No features so they could release a remix album with people doing their own spin on each tune. This is a huge banger and worked perfecrly as a single
